Oh, nice! I love missing scenes. But sad, too! Poor Watson, caught between Mary and Holmes!

Thank you o mysterious benefactor! It's lovely to get a story in this 'verse.

I was worried that the casefic was not along the lines of what you requested, so I panicked and combined:
Missing Scenes,
POV of minor character, and
Seven Percent Solution.
No time to re-read or re-watch the originals, I had to take liberties and hope it made sense in the end

Very cool! there aren't many fics in this 'verse. You did a great job with it.

I think just about anything goes in this 'fest, so your story fits right in.

I know I shouldn't be laughing right now (because angsty fic! much feelings!) but I've always thought of 7PER as the canon that frees Watson from having to mourn Mary and Holmes at the same time. However, I see now that I should never have underestimated the power of a good fanwriter to reset things to "nope! Watson's still gonna mourn be seriously distressed for them simultaneously!" ;-)

But my own giggle fits aside, you have a nice touch with the emotional notes, and I like your foregrounding Frau Freud, who we never saw that much of. And there's likewise the sneaky punch that neither of them can see coming just yet: her comfort will ultimately turn out to be not that comforting, because Holmes is gonna turn down Watson's "constant support and friendship" and choose to go it alone. And what happens after that is anyone's guess...

Thanks! I make no claim of expertise and I only have passing knowledge of 7PER. I was setting this story before Watson was assured of Holmes recovery, and took liberties with Watson's knowledge of Mary's illness. Martha Freud, at the time of this story, would have been dealing with two toddlers and another baby on the way. In the end, Watson would be disappointed that Holmes did not want his constant support and friendship, but he also might see it as a sign of Holmes' recovery and strength.

(gdi, I forgot what login I was wearing!)

:: Martha Freud, at the time of this story, would have been dealing with two toddlers and another baby on the way. ::

Hahahahahahaha, omg, I spent so much time wrestling with that, see my "editor's note" from one of my two 7PER stories from last winter: the number and ages of the children in the Freud household conflict with the historical record. Either Watson messed up his names and dates again, or he is a lying liar who lies.

:: ...but he also might see it as a sign of Holmes' recovery and strength. ::

Oh, I do hope so! I just want Watson to be happy! (She says, while poking Watson with sticks of pain and misery.)
