I'm so happy with this, dear anon! Never thought I'd be lucky enough to get a MDBD fic, and in this one, you've perfectly
captured everything I love about the film: the sense of wistfulness that pervades everything, the gender ambiguity, Watson's sparkiness and Holmes' determination to hide her emotions from the world. And the clothes!

I loved that bittersweet moment of overt affection in the middle. Loved the little historical touches too. I remembering reading that Victorian women's clothing weighed somewhere between 50 and 100 kg!

I found the film so utterly delightful, with all its zaniness and its unexpected melancholy core, so I really hoped to write something that did it justice.
