What a hypnotic, chanting rhythm this has. And it would make sense that John would be attracted to her and that she could have fooled Mycroft.

This is really, really beautiful. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Word choices and imagery and the minimalist style. Stunning work.

This was beautiful and I love the image of Mycroft as the protector of his younger siblings. And how fucked up is it to have the man you love marry your supposedly dead sister?hT

This story is amazing on so many levels, notably the parallels with mythology, the elegant economy of language, and the mind-blowingly brilliant origin story for Mary Morstan. I love stories that make me view character relationships in new ways, and this one fits the bill several ways to Sunday. This possibility for Mary's past is so thematically rich and beautiful that I can't not let it share a shelf in my mind library with my own theories. I really feel for Mycroft here, struggling with his own failure to fulfill his role, and having to balance his knowledge and understanding with the chaotic elements that are inevitably part of any sibling relationship, especially with three such extraordinary siblings. This is a beautifully written, staggeringly conceived piece, Mystery Author, and I adored every word. BRAVAAAA!!!!

I know. I know. Mystery author, this story is so brilliant, I feel perversely proud without having written a single word of it. I found myself agreeing with much of this review. This was brilliant.
