Oh, this is my favorite flavor of Sherlock - stroppy and dramatic in the throes of John-related emotion, and having no earthly concept of why John might not want the relic of an unsolved murder quite literally hanging around the flat. It's a gesture, John, don't you understand? XD

I think what I love most about this story is the innovation and unexpectedness of a sinister ghost story tied to a wintry Christmas romance. It genuinely felt like a cold gust of wind, which spoke not only to the season but to the malevolent nature of the ornament and the manifestation of Sherlock's epic flounce. It was such a lovely ambiance, and a refreshing new look at their relationship and the holiday.

Thanks so much!

Thank you for this well written fic. Besides a warm romance, it's an good, chilling dark fantasy. Both povs are very well done, and so is the action.

That was wonderfully spooky. Beautiful descriptions of how John first sensed the malevolence of the ornament even before he knew it was a murder weapon and the way Sherlock came to sense it, the bridge between the rational/natural and the supernatural formed by his feelings for John. Not only have Sherlock and John reached a new level of intimacy (what a Christmas present!), but the scope of Sherlock's investigative abilities have just expanded!

NGL, that creeped me out. It's a good thing I don't have any Father Christmas ornaments or they would be thrown right out! It's wonderful how you turned it all warm and fluffy at the end though. Because near-death experiences are the height of romance for Sherlock and John. ;)
