That was beautiful. I especially like that Sherlock's father was so wise, and knew what his son needed, both as a teenager (something to draw and keep his interest), and as an adult (someone to share everything with that excites him).

I'm really glad you liked it. :) This was originally going to be a post-Reichenbach fic, but the prompter didn't want anything post-Reichenbach, so the natural solution seemed to be to have it be a life lesson from his father. Ultimately, I think it works better that way, but it's still such a relief to see that people seemed to like it. Thanks for the comment. :)

Thank you so much! I'm so relieved that you like it. I seriously played around with two other ideas before this one popped in my head, and even then I originally envisioned this as a hiatus fic. I ultimately decided that between involving a bit of Sherlock as a child vs. making this post-Reichenbach, Sherlock as a child would be the better way to go. I think it probably works better that way anyway.

Seriously, though, glad you like it. Sorry about the porn, though.
