Hello,
I’m looking for some fic recs that deal with the (direct) aftermath of the swimming pool face-off in 1x03. It doesn’t have to be canon compliant - so it doesn’t acknowledge the canon way it was resolved in 2x01. At the end of 1x03 it really could have still gone anyway and I would just love to read some fics which deal with that. Either it ( Read more... )

Hmm, let me think. All these are Sherlock h/c and I think most of them have the AU situation of there being an actual explosion at the pool.

--Leave the Sights and the Sirens (24,574 words) by out-there

--Call and Answer (3,630 words) by veronamay

-- Not Even Half Time (3,000 words) by lantean-drift

--Voice Like Thunder (4,907 words) by JezebelGoldstone

-- What Friends Do by mariole

--The Heart In The Whole (101,650 words) by verityburns

--Rustication (2,694 words) by SarahT (saraht on dreamwidth)

--My Will’s Not My Own (50,294 words) by SailorChibi (tsuki-chibi on tumblr)/tsukichibi (Major warnings for rape, terrible misunderstandings in this one)

Hope it's helpful! :)

Wow, that was a really quick reply.
Thank you for all the wonderful recs.
I love h/c fics, since they are usually quite a good mixture of angst and sweet scenes.

So thank you for giving me hours - like how does anyone even write a 101.000 word fic?? - reading pleasure.

In verityburns case the answer to your question "how does anyone even write a 101,000 word fic??" is "very, very well." I like her stories.

I have seen her name on quite a few rec lists for Sherlock fic, so I think I will enjoy reading it.
I'm amazed by anyone who can write a coherent story, but I'm completely in awe for people who can write stories that span more than a 100.000 words. I would just get lost half-way through my own story if I attempted that!
