(Boulevard of) Broken Songs - Doctor Who
My favorite video this year (of my own):
Well, to be perfectly honest, I actually like them all this year. But since I must pick, it's a three-way tie: "Right Here Right Now" because it turned out to be a successful recruiter vid and people actually got into the show after watching it (\o/). "Talk Show Host" because I love the mood and flow of it as far as editing goes. And "(Boulevard of) Broken Songs" because holy effing crap I did not expect that reception! (O_o)
My least favorite:
Well...I suppose "Ouroboros" is the one I choose here. Just cuz it's this random tiny thing. It's like two seconds long. And I wish I stuck to one font.
Most successful video:
"(Boulevard of) Broken Songs." Again I say...aslklkdjsdkfjsc!!!! Runner up is "Right Here Right Now." ;)
Video most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
"Ribbons Undone" because, let's face it, the vid focuses on a niche relationship (Vala and Adria) so it was bound to get less plays. But the surprising one was "A Question Mark," except that's not surprising at all since it's a Martha Jones vid. *eyeroll*
Most fun video to make:
I'm obliged to quote myself from a year ago: I don't actually find the vidding process all that much fun. It kinda stresses me out big time, but at the same time I love it. Then I suppose for me fun would be when I'm less stressed out than usual while vidding. LOL. So in that case it would be "A Bitter Song," "Tabula Rasa," and "Agnus Dei." Also, even though putting together "Right Here Right Now" was tougher that the ones I just mentioned, for some reason vidding SGA is actually my favorite. I can't explain it, I just love to do it (and I don't do it nearly enough). It's just...fun!
Hardest video to make:
Hooboy. "Talk Show Host" and "Ribbons Undone." There were days that I could only put like one clip on the timeline before getting depressed and squirmy. I talked about finishing "Lost Cause" in the 2006 meme, so that means it must have been hard, lol. And of course "(Boulevard of) Broken Songs." I got stuck with that one to the point where I had to go off and make another vid!
The things I've learnt this year...
That participating in some sort of challenge (CTV!) really pushes you to think outside the box in the most satisfying way. That trying new things and experimenting with a variety of mediums can produce really different looking videos which is fantastic. That watching other people's work can inspire intriguing ideas. That vid commentaries are super fun. ;)
Things to work on in 2008
Learn more! Don't be lazy. Commit to videos that are hard to edit and finish them because usually, those are the most satisfying in the end. And think outside the box. *nods*
Vid projects I definitely want to get finished this year:
Oof. There's lots. *looks at Vid List*
"Paranoid Android" - BSG (Season 3 as told by Gaius Baltar)
"Code Red" - BSG (fucked up Kara)
"Succexy" - SGA (military stuff)
"Nothing's Impossible" - Doctor Who (usual Ten/Rose/Martha angst which is now kinda weird cuz of that S4 spoiler)
"Enjoy" - SGA (action vid of awesome)
"A Wolf at the Door" - Doctor Who (from the Master's POV)
"Jigsaw Falling into Place" - BSG (focusing on Razor)
"Art Bitch" - BSG (Kara)
Plus the usual bit from the wish list.
"The Letter" - BSG (Baltar/Caprica, inspired by the pen!sniff)
"All That I Am" - Stargate Atlantis (Sheppard)
"672" - BSG (Can/Gina)
"A Nervous Tic Motion" - SGA (Rodney)
"Smokey Joe" - BSG (Kara/Leoban)
"Have a Cigar" - SGA (Sheppard and the Team)
Oh poop. You guys, I have the shittiest track record of getting anything actually planned to the state of completion and postingness. I really should've put that in the things I wanna work on in 2008 question. Oy. See the stress??? It's even in this meme! *headdesk*
Statistics: In
2006 I made 12 vids. In 2007 it's 14! Hooray! \o/
*shrug*
