Oh the Squee. Don't Be Harshed.

Ok, as the flist is currently exploding from this RTD quote I'm feeling the need to step back and point out several key things which I think people are definitely overlooking.

1.) That article said the multi-companion story is the Pompeii episode. This is WRONG. How can you fully trust an article that sucks at reporting this much?

2.) RTD never ( Read more... )

I haven't seen bit of news this posted on any Rose-oriented comms yet. But I can just imagine the reaction now. It'll be like a bunch of four-year-olds going "Nyah, nyah! See! I told you so!"

Martha as played by Freema ruled in her own right. She wouldn't have been on the show as long, asked to do Torchwood, and then asked to come back otherwise. :)

These are very wise and VERY true facts, and what's sad is the fact that no one takes a step back to think.

I'm actually dreading the Rose comms doing exactly what you proposed they'd be doing. (It's probably already happening on the OG.) And I think that's partially why the reaction on the Martha comms is so strong in the opposite way. I mean writing letters of protest to RTD? No. They're just already anticipating the Rosefen attack. Oy! *headdesk*

This war needs to END!

Yeah you're right, I was talking to a friend and said, maybe he didn't mean that.
Martha really felt like secon best, but I felt it was only because emo Doctor, he just doesn't want to get close to anyone again. And after Doomsday I wouldn't want either.

Actually I think The Doctor felt guilty when Martha left, and he was really sorry for the way he treated her, and that's why he decided not to tell her to stay.
I remember people complaining about that, but if he would have said, oh I'm sorry please stay, it would have been very selfish from him. Like he didn't even get why Martha was leaving, almost like the last conversation he had with Joan (I wanted to kill him). So that's why he just nods and says thank you.

You're right, but it's also very important to remember that Martha didn't know anything about the events of Doomsday or anything pertaining to Rose. She just got little bits and pieces thrown her way once in a while which made her feel like shit. But we the audience, of course, know exactly why the Doctor is behaving the way he does.

But I'm not sure if he was really sorry for everything he did to her. I think he can't yet admit that out loud, because if he did, then he ( ... )

Actually I always wanted to do a video where we could see Martha finally discovering all about The Doctor and Rose, specially Doomsday. But I'm not that good at vidding, but I have written a lot fics centered around that.

It's a very intriguing idea, right?! It's just so difficult when people don't even realize the dramatic irony that Martha is a part of. Glad you get to explore it in fic. ;)

That was always what it was, and honestly, if the Doctor did just jump right up and was like, "Helloo! Let's frolick!" then that would be awful character continuity.

Actually, that would be perfect character continuity. Even for the new series (y halo thar '[Jack] is rebuilding earth')
