i so agree about the photo! tsk tsk. cate looked so good in that gold dress, too. really flattering for her skin tone and hair color.
maybe people couldn't remember which film is which when they checked off the box for helen mirren. in any case, i'm very pleased she won. she's so much fun :).

No prob about the roundtable link. It was a hilarious article and even funnier in the clips. Wish I could have been there for the whole 2 HOURS they talked! O.o
My roomy just saw Dreamgirls and said that Jennifer Hudson can sing good, that was the performance. Literally. So it looks like the voters have confused all the acting awards for the Grammys. But whatevs. *rolls eyes* It's really b/c they tend to give the supporting actor awards to newcomers and since Cate got one already for The Aviator, they're giving it to this lady instead. Blah.
Hee. Ellen's shout out to Kate was so accidental. They all got up on stage and Ellen was trying to thank the supporting cast they have, but she was failing rather miserably at it. And she meant to say Kate Burton, who was not there, but said Kate Walsh instead and Kate, who was right behind her was like, "Hi. I'm here tonight." It was cute. :)
Oh, and I totally love you for posting the Oscar roundtable discussion. I'll watch it tomorrow morning when I have time! :)
Blah, indeed. Cate will win a Best Actress Oscar one day, and we'll just be hanging out for that day! (I still have admittedly unfair prejudice against Hudson for the fact that she was on Idol. I know, very juvenile of me but meh.)
I saw it! Hee, it was amusing. I loved Katie Heigl's expression; she was like, "Hang on, what?" and Patrick going: "Kate's here, by the way!" Funny stuff. Ellen was just a rambling mess under all the pressure. ;)

Let me set things straight, here. It is absolutely not unfair at allthat you have prejudice for JH being on Idol. Because, it's REALLY the worst part of this all. I can't forgive the fact that Cate will lose the Oscar to a non-actor! It isn't the Grammys here. It's acting awards. So don't feel bad. And continue the good natured hate. :)
And Kate Walsh is love! I don't know why she is so awesome. :D
Seriously, though! I also think that JH really has no clue who she's standing next to in that photo. Like, she's probably never seen a single Cate film. Foh shame!

She has a feisty sense of humor, that one. *g* She actually continued to say that it was her mom's perfume. But still. :)
