O HAI GUYS! *pokes head out like a bb meerkat*
I haven't talked much about Ashes to Ashes this series because, well because I was rather uninspired by the first two eps. :/ I did not like what I was seeing since what I was seeing looked suspiciously like Life on Mars. (Except worse, right? Cuz of that ookie Keeley Hawes being all up in thar instead

Second, I just read your post and I think you might be misunderstanding the lightness of the term "jailer" and the fact that purgatory is no longer just a Christian concept (although I half fear they'll make him out to be an angel or something, kind of like Kara was on BSG) but generally tends to mean what you want it to mean, a place for "lost souls - stuck between life and death."
The fact that Supertheory called Gene a jailer is because his purpose on both shows was to keep The Person In Need (Sam and Alex) with him in his world and not to regain consciousness. It is a bit menacing but he does it for their own good. I'm sorry to say that there is no real evidence to suggest that he is a real person and that when Alex wakes up he'll be there. He's a figment of their subconscious that adjusts to the brain he is occupying. So that is the explanation for his character development between LoM and A2A ( ... )

And I totally started re-wartching LoM today, and I am so crazy on board with the dead girlfriend idea it's not even funny.

Dude, I think I need to rewatch some LoM. Certainly the beginning and also the one with Jackie
JormpJomp Queen in preparation of next week. (Btw that's the ep that Sam thought he needed to be shot in the head to wake up. Heh.)
I just remember being incredibly disappointed that Maya turned out just fine and dandy at the end of the episode. It was like this wicked anticlimax, especially since I thought Sam's drive throughout the series would be to GET BACK TO RESCUE MAYA. That's why I loved A2A so much, as it fixed that and gave Alex some purpose, you know? So yeah, high five to Maya being deceased as well. ;) *high fives*

But, then, it's been over a year since I've watched show, so I kind of forget everything except how it ends. Hence need to rewatch. But, yes. Agreed about the anticlimactic nature. And it's weird that if he's in a coma, his actions would affect an outcome in the future. OH MY GOD, THIS IS MAKING ME PARANOID AND IT ISN'T EVEN MONDAY. *FLAILS*
But I missed all the fun the first go round, so out of curiosity, what were the LoM theories of the day? What's all the Wizard of Oz business?

Haha! Yeah, I didn't remember that. I just remember being, "Whaaaat? She's FINE?" And then don't forget that later she mysteriously appears and breaks up with him while he's in a coma! I found that a shady action as well. Like he wasn't in a coma THAT LONG. Bitch couldn't wait? Booo.

HAHAHAHA! Win.
But I missed all the fun the first go round, so out of curiosity, what were the LoM theories of the day? What's all the Wizard of Oz business? Hey I'm there with ya. :/ We only started watching the show after it all ended. So in terms of conspiracy theories I can't really help you there, except how I remember after LomUSA ended there was talk about how some folks wanted him to wake up Wizard of Oz style and be like, "And you were there! And YOU!" Blah. Oh and apparently from the comments in ( ... )
