JRR's Munetaka Higuchi censorship, part 3: details about nekro's ban.

Dec 28, 2009 18:20

I heard back from nekro about the details of his ban-- naturally, the ban is as shady and completely ridiculous as I expected. Here's a screencap he sent me of what he saw when he tried to log into JRR today:

What the fuck? God Poor Nekro, that is bull shit. I"m sorry guys. If I was an artist I would be embareassed to be linked in anyway to that forum.

I'm sorry. I edited. I just don't fucking get it. I mean okay, everyone knows they fucked up. What is so hard about putting up an article? Even now, something thought out and sincere would still be appricated. Just something that said he was here, what he did and how much his fans miss him. Just a thread where his fans could tlak about it. It seems like they don't even want any mention of him at all now.

Exactly.

Well, there IS a thread-- not an article, but a thread-- but understandably no one uses it anymore since his fans (presumably; I'm speaking for myself here though I imagine others probably feel the same) aren't in the mood to talk on those threads as if everything's OK on a site so intent on purposely disrespecting him/them.

And to this day there's still no article of course, but naturally they manage to post those X Japan press releases the day they come out.

This is pathetic. I don't even understand why jrr exists, anymore. They don't do anything for the artists or the fans and they're not even comic relief at this point.

Yeah, really. They've been running on fumes for a long time, and nowadays not even amusing fumes anymore.

I am shocked that the ban wasn't a perma-ban. That would have been more of their style unless they're trying to save their asses and seem more "mature".

I'm also pretty surprised it wasn't a perma-ban, especially if they supposedly think nekro is me. If they honestly think so, I imagine they'd ban him permanently and possibly me too while at it.

Now more than ever I suspect that the "my first cousin's wife's sister's dog's groomer told me that JRR thinks nekro is Hollywood and that's why they're mean to him!!11!" rumor is more likely bullshit than not.

Wow jrr is still around? I've been so out of the loop (and it's been quite nice, to be honest.)

(Thanks for posting all this for me. The more people know, the better.) This is all so ridiculous I don't even know where to begin...

Shame I didn't get a screencap of the original "infraction" PM I got, but most of its content is included in that reply I made (on the screencap you posted for me). Looks like the whole "JRR has no secrets, right?" part was more correct than I even thought... Nicely done, you completely proved me right when you banned me!

I still can't understand how first completely losing your face in a fight and then banning the few too inquisitive guys (or driving them out by other means) can work more in their favour than simply writing the article. As said before, just a short, respectful one without factual errors would, not undo, but help overlook many past wrongs. It seriously can't be that difficult.

(No problem! Even aside of the people on my friendslist who know something about this situation, I know I've got JRR people lurking my LJ so I figured it would get more exposure here than in yours.)

And yeah, exactly, on everything you said.

Doesn't it also supposedly require at least a couple infractions to get banned? And weren't you banned on one infraction (and no warnings)?

Running scared and "emergency" measures to shut you up sure don't make them look guilty or anything. :P
