shame about ed, but theres lots more fish in the sea (not sure why you'd want to go out with a fish though, for starters you'd have to learn to dive, and then there's dodging all of those blooming fishermen..)
Sorry about the Dubai guy. Still, it is definitely better to find that out now than wait 6 months thinking there was something there and then discover there wasn't after all!
The Cognitive Therapy thing sounds interesting. I didn't realise you felt that the issue was so serious, although I suppose it is true that you've had some quite dramatic relationships! No more so than plenty of other people I know, though.
Will you go to a professional, or take a self-help approach, do you think?
Actually, I've spent some time talking to people online, taking tests and reading stuff and what seems to come out is a lack of assertiveness on my part - rather than depression - and it seems like taking an assertiveness course might be more useful to me.
Which is sort of fortuitous, because I'm booked to go on an assertiveness course through work next week! (My line manager thought it would be good for me).
My line manager is ace and helps me through any work/personal issues I ever have! like coming back to work 4 days a week after maternity leave and stuff. I wish everyone had such a good line manager!
I wouldn't have thought Michael would be the person to help me through this stuff... You'd probably be surprised how often this is the case, where the last person in the world you would expect to be any help actually ends up being the very one who helps you slot things together, make sense of things. Probably because they're "outside" your normal circle of friends, they bring fresh and unbiased opinions and viewpoints that you wouldn't have thought about otherwise.
Work provides us with far too much free alcohol! Where do I apply??? :D
