Summary: Roy is twenty-five and finished with law school, but he's not on the path to toward the environmental law career he wanted. When Napoleon Bridger Leep is wrongfully accused of arson and first degree murder, his career takes a sudden turn toward criminal law.

( He imagines the guards watching this like a soap opera from behind the one way mirror, bowls of popcorn balanced on their stomachs. )

This is absolutely fantastic, and I'm so glad that I stumbled upon it. Your writing has this quality that totally envelops the reader. I've never really gave much thought to Hoot after I finished reading it but this story makes so much sense to all the vague expectations I had when I reached the end of the book. Thank you so much for this, and if you're planning to finish it, I'm looking forward to the conclusion!

You have a wonderful, emotive way of writing that makes everything seem like a great dream. In the best possible sense.

Thank you so much for reading and for the comment! I hate that I ran out of steam on this story before it finished, but I think the legal complexities of the plot ended up scaring me off. I'm glad the emotional parts resonated, anyway. ;__;

I'm actually really sad that you aren't able to finish this story. D:

I really wanted to know if Roy's able to get Mullet free or not. :/

and I want to know if those two have any kind of future together or not. Even if you can't finish writing the last part, I would at least like to know what happens, if you don't mind.

Like previous people have said, this story really sucked me in and it's so hard to find GOOD Roy/Mullet stories. Hell, it's hard to find good Hoot fics period. :/

I just finished watching Hoot and the first thing I did when I finished was get online to look for fanfiction for obvious reasons (I mean cmon the chasing, the boat rides, fish in shoe)..... Imagine my surprise (and happiness) when the first one I find is by hollycomb. Pity it couldn't be finished but definitely enjoyed what you wrote. Now you've spoiled me for other Hoot fics though. XD
