-yesterday, thumper_montoya was working really late, so i had the house to myself. i turned the tv on to the food network to get some background noise as i was doing things around the house, but that turned out to be a bad idea... the food network is one of my default background channels, as it's normally pretty cheerful and i occasionally learn something

It must be really hard. I have sometimes thought crazy thoughts about moving to France. When I think about how hard it would be to be away from pretty much everyone you know and all the things that you call "home," I have a lot of respect for people who just pull up and go somewhere else in the world to live. I know you haven't gone to a foreign country but in some ways it might as well be!

I'll bring Thomas his b-day present when y'all are down for Revel, and X-mas when you're down in January.

... And I'm real excited that you're coming in, just in case I hadn't mentioned it already. You don't have to get me a pair of bishies for x-mas, I know they won't fit in a carry on.
