ahhh, tough chapter, the follow-up to aisling's unfortunate and shocking incident with her father. aisling withdrawing into her head, like she did following student teacher bea calling her a 'stupid, stupid girl', is akin to her going into a social coma and made most evident by this passage: "She reached over and took Aisling’s hand in her own, squeezing it softly. Aisling was brought out of her daze for a moment and smiled at Sinead, gripping her hand softly in return." that's like a bedside gesture! But God is gracious and has once again brought our two girls together so that they can help each other work things out. i'm glad aisling finally opened up to sinead. and their next step is?

Yay! Aisling didn't have to return home but the whole situation sucks. Both of her mom and dad are terrible parents. One leaves her kid with an alcoholic because she can't deal and the other is an alcoholic cheater. They obviously don't care about their daughter. Emma should have been hired to "take care" of them. It good she has a friend to turn to though.
