Announcement Concerning my Sim Stories

Jun 14, 2011 11:03

Some of you commented on my post a few days ago about how I was feeling overwhelmed and that The Sims, the one thing I turned to for fun, had become anything but. Well, this is my solution to that problem. Let me say that I have not come to this decision lightly.

As most of you know, I am the mother of two boys. One seven year old with Special needs ( Read more... )

Don't feel bad. RL is the most important thing, and you have your hands full. Fighting to tell the story you want to tell, using pics you took with no intension of making a story out of, well, that's like trying to write someone else's story.
You're not who you were when those were taken, and if a do-over *coughHINTcough is in the cards, I'll be the first one in line to read it. Nobody knows the citizens of PV like you do, and I sincerely hope that when your RL settles down, that you'll find the time and desire to take us there once again.

In the meantime, we'll eat up Dawn Discourse's fabulous life story with a giant spoon and say MORE PLEASE after each spoonful! And, we'll wait with hopeful hearts for our Creation family to return to us.

Now get out there and ENJOY yourself!!!

I don't think you should be too worried about us being disappointed, most Simmers I know of have started and stopped many stories well before the completion of said story/legacy; I do it all the time, although I still intend to finish them, just can't right now. I have a feeling there are more unfinished multipart stories than finished ones in the Simming community.

We don't always have control over what comes in life, good or bad. You do the best you can and try to have some fun in the process. If what you are doing for fun really isn't fun then it is not worth doing. I have had to learn that several times over when trying to fight through telling a story with my head all messed up the way it is, I'm still learning it in someways, although now I am giving myself more time between posts. Point is, I think more people will probably understand than you realize.

I totally understand about your free time Holley. As a homeschooling mum who is with her kids 24/7, I know that free time is precious and can imagine your summer will be full.

It's sad when you lose a story, I had that when an older computer melted into a puddle a few years back. I left mine up on the exchange for quite some time and only took them down about a month ago. Most people have lost a sim story or families at some point.

*hugs* Hope you have a lovely summer and I'll be eagerly awaiting these DD RR babies. :D

At least you have a plan! :)
Honestly, I don't know how some of you can do multiple stories/challenges at the same time. D: Kudos and hats-off for having such a prolific run! But I think you'll be happier now, with fewer projects in the works. Of course kids are "projects in the works" too, and you have to give them precedence over everything else.
