I can't tell you how much I love it. It's perfect perfect perfect! ♥ I know I say this every time, but it's my NEW FAVOURITE. ♥ I want to print it out and make it into a little book with illustrations and, oh. ♥

How bizarre! But strangely compelling... I've always seen Hannah and Susan as BFFs, and although they call Megan their "other best friend" too, she's never as close to them. :-? I do want to write Hannah/Megan now, though. :-"

I love this more than anything I've read recently, I think. It's just... so right, for spring to affect the Hufflepuffs in the way it does, and the way you write it with such simplicity and vividness is beautiful. I agree with what frock says; it's like a picture book.

And the flaws in the characters are just perfect; especially Zach, always trying to be Cedric. ♥ And Megan with her artistic license (is Megan canon? I don't remember her), and Justin with his vain insecurity! It's just too human, in a way.

I love the lines: Hannah smiles and says, don’t leave fingerprints on the mirror, please. Megan drifts around muttering about trochaic meter and is liable to jump a foot when spoken to.

But I think I love Hannah and Susan most of all... the way you just concoct these beautiful images and scenarios with such seeming effortlessness, and they're not dramatized, it's just lovely. And the beeswax!

Sorry for this overly long review. :P I just really love this. ♥ Bloody brilliant job.

Oh, I'm so glad you think so - simple yet vivid was exactly the tone I was going for.

Megan was on JKR's draft of the classlist for Harry's year! She's not canon, exactly, but I needed another Hufflepuff girl to balance things out.

Hee! You can leave me all the overly-long reviews you like if they're as lovely as this one. ♥

Hee! Thank you! :D Hufflepuffs are so much fun to write, I don't know why more people don't write about them.

Because a lot of people don't understand Hufflepuffs. Which is very sad, really. I love my Hufflepuffs. I'm currently playing Susan Bones in the RPG deadly_seven.

Funny how almost every Zacharias interpretation I've seen has him trying to live up to/avenge/get over his crush on Cedric. I love him, I think he's an absolutely fascinating character in the way we've seen so little of him, but from what we've seen you can extrapolate so much about him.

And you've sort of done that in reverse. You can tell that all of them have these vivid personalities, and you've boiled them down into short, short looks, like just catching a glimpse of a painting and not having the time to really study everything about it. <3

Really? I admit, I've read precious little Zacharias fic. (Got any recs?) I think it's plausible that he'd try and live up to Cedric's image, though; especially as in this fic he's become Quidditch captain like Cedric was.

Oh, that's a wonderful analogy. Thank you for your review! ♥

There isn't much out there. My main rec has always been and will always be the Professional's Guide to Badgering People trilogy by Maya, which is comedy Zacharias/Draco, Harry/Draco. Other than that, there's the snarkypuff community and zacharias_ginny on LJ, and if you go to FictionAlley you can go into the forums and find the Zacharias thread under Main Characters. Somewhere there's a fic in which Zacharias, Susan, Lavendar and Ron are all living together after Hogwarts which wasn't quite finished last time I saw it, but I can't remember the name or author. I'm pretty sure I found it through FA though, in the forums.

Also, there's a Zacharias/Lavendar story, that's by the same person who wrote that one, as I recall... the basic premise is that Lavendar is all crushing on Parvati, and Zacharias offers to be her beard to lose the rumours he's having about some annoying stalker girl. Shades of Lavendar, here.

Oh, and I've now tracked down that author's livejournal glisteninggold.

Then, as a shameless plug, there is also my writing journal phaetonschariotAnd all this just found me a ( ... )

Oh, that's fantastic, thank you so much! :D

I have one Zacharias rec to offer in return, but it's a good one: The Portal by apostrophet. Zach is smug and sarcastic and just perfect in it.
