Being back in the castle was slightly weird, especially there weren't so many people around. She had only been back for a day, and already it gave Theodora a nagging cold feeling, like she was walking around in a ruin

A visitor? Oh, what perfect timing! Sorrows smiled down at his little friend and rubbed the kneazel's head. They had a visitor, oh joy! No doubt it was one of his best students-- some Ravenclaw student whose parents had gone on holiday and not cared to take their child along for the break. Sorrows always pitied these ones. He hadn't exactly had real parents growing up either, but he never had to spend the holidays at school-- his aunt Bethlesa always had him come home to visit her and he'd enjoyed the company.
But Sorrows wouldn't mind splitting his tea with a young one, he liked them so much! He was sure Sum wouldn't mind, either.
"Come in, come in, dear!" he called, hoping it would be a boy so they would be sufficiently embarrassed by being called 'dear' by an older male teacher. That was always good for a laugh. Teenagers, they embarrassed so easily!
As she waited for the reply - it was a couple of seconds, no more - she couldn't resist taking a glimpse of the room inside with her inner eye. Professor was smiling at is pet, the kneazel, and seemed to be in a good mood.
He looked little different from what she remembered. Granted, a few lines on his face that hasn't been there when she was in school, but the atmosphere of him hasn't changed a bit: he was still the admirable professor that loved his numbers and his students, albeit more smart ones than otherwise.
His call came as a further reassurance of that fact, and Theodora opened the door, manoeuvring the biscuit platter inside first, and then came into the room herself.
"Good afternoon, Professor Askes," she greeted. "I hope you wouldn't mind a little addiction to your tea," she continued cheerfully, smiling at the older man. "And some memories, maybe."
Oh, but when wasn't Sorrows in a good mood? Even the jolly optimist despite his ill-luck in life, Sorrows was nearly always seen beaming from ear-to-ear. Few things in life could truly bring him down
