44 Blueberry Hill, Wednesday morning

There was a large crack in the living room ceiling, and this would not do. Cole certainly did not want the possibility of any plaster falling and hitting Phoebe, so he was determined to fix it this morning. Thus he was armed with paint, brush, plaster, trowel, drywall, hammer, nails, and a drywall lift. He did construction back in high school,

Callisto tilted her head. "And now I have even less reason to believe you."

Cole shrugged and shimmered behind Callisto and tapped her on the shoulder.

Callisto drew her sword whilst whirling around.

"Magic," she growled.

Cole stepped out of range. He held out one hand and conjured up a fireball. "Demon, magic, how do you tell the difference?" he said.

Callisto eyed the fire.

"I suppose I cannot," she said. "I would not try such tricks on me again."

"Or what?" Cole said. "You'll stab me with your sword?"

Callisto narrowed her eyes. "I will need more than steel to draw the blood of demons?" she asked.

"Then I would be wise to avoid your lair."

Cole chuckled. "Oh, relax, I'm not evil," he said.

Callisto shrugged. "Evil is relative," she said.

"Maybe," Cole said with a shrug of his own. "But so long as you aren't trying to hurt me and mine, I've got no reason to hurt you."
