PART ELEVEN Ianto couldn't stop himself, first he could taste the burning in his throat, then he was doubled over letting the churning in his stomach take over. As the buzzing in his ears grew louder and the colours in his vision faded, he felt hands on his back, rubbing in soothing circles. Once the heaving stopped, Ianto remained bent over, trying to regain his composure, and Jack's hands continued to provide comfort- then began providing something a bit more than comfort.
"What the hell?" Ianto pushed himself up and stumbled away from where Jack was still standing with an obvious erection showing in his trousers, "What's wrong with you!" Ianto saw that Jack's pupils were blown and he looked drugged, and very aroused. Ianto remembered how he'd once lost control because of Jack's pheromones, but he'd never seen Jack lose control. Ianto grabbed Jack and pushed him out of the cell, pulling the door shut behind him. After letting out a long breath, he turned to the entrapped version of Jack Harkness, who seemed to be enjoying the situation. "It's you, isn't it? You're completely out of control."
The other Jack just giggled, "What, didn't you like the show Ianto Jones? How about you show me how different you are without the upgrades. Come on, it's not as fun as the electrodes, but it will do for a start." He tugged at his arms, dislodging one of the cables and making his arm bleed, "Come on- just a taste."
Ianto looked this Jack and wanted to cry, "What have they done to you Jack?"
The other Jack just smiled vacantly, "two years of being plugged in. Two years of wind up toys and electricity. I'm the energizer bunny- I keep going and coming. Your cyber bitch is trapped in the hub with her defective toys because I activated the final solution before she could kill me enough times to slow me down." He hummed to himself and started momentum so he swung from his cables, "Tons of concrete filled the exits and UNIT did their job installing the EMP shield- she lost Owen to that." Jack cackled a bit which morphed into a sob, "Her little weevil bulldozers are digging, digging, digging their way around the EMP shield, but she'll lose all of her playthings before she gets out of her tomb." He kept crying and laughing and swinging in his wires and yelled at the top of his lungs, "And I'll win in the end. It'll just be me."
Ianto couldn't take anymore of it. This Jack was completely broken and couldn't even be given the release of death. Ianto let the tears slide down his face as he looked at the damned soul that was this version of Jack Harkness who was now singing a warped version of Winter Wonderland that included cybermen and weevils, and quietly said, "I'm so sorry Jack. If I'd known this could have happened, I would have killed her myself." Without another look, Ianto exited the cell, pulled the door shut and leaned his forehead against it for a moment murmuring, "I'm sorry."
His Jack slid up behind him and began licking at his neck and running his hands down his sides. Ianto wanted to cringe at Jack's actions, but he understood now- he was drowning in the double's overstimulated sex pheromones. He had to clear Jack's head or they'd die here and Ianto Jones was really not interested in becoming a cyberman. He grabbed Jack's wrist and dragged him down the hallway, away from this reality's Jack and closer to the stairway hatch. He looked in a storage room and quickly pulled Jack in and secured the door. "Jack, I need your attention here." Jack's blown pupils didn't promise anything other than a quick and dirty in a storage cupboard, so Ianto slapped Jack hard across the face and hoped.
It worked for a moment, "What!" Jack was quickly sinking back into his euphoria, but Ianto had his attention for the moment.
"You're overdosing on the other Jack's hormones," Ianto slapped Jack's face again- with less vigor, "Focus. How do I snap you out!" Ianto held Jack's face in his hands and stared directly into the solid black eyes that finally gazed back.
"Get the smell out of my head." Jack's tongue was thick in his mouth, but it was quickly running over his lips and he was pushing forward to reach Ianto's mouth. Ianto let go of Jack's head and pressed both hands firmly against his chest to keep him away. As much as he wanted to kiss Jack, he had to keep his wits and pull him down off his high. With palms firmly pressed and arms stretched, Ianto quickly scanned the store room for anything that might work. The room was bare except for the small medical kit on the wall- which gave Ianto an idea. He slipped free of Jack and quickly pulled the kit down and rifled through looking for the answer. Jack's arms were wrapped around his waist from behind and Jack's mouth was worrying the skin just below his left ear when he finally found the small quilted cotton capsules. With one of Jack's hands slipping in his shirt and carding through his chest hair and the other threading down the front of his trousers, Ianto cursed and slammed the packet against the wall before tearing it open. Taking a deep breath, he spun around in Jack's arms and held his hand, with the smelling salts, over Jack's nose and held tight.
Jack's initial reaction was to pull away as he gasped and coughed from the ammonia inhalant. Ianto stepped back and let Jack cough and gag, clearing his sinuses and lungs with the fresh, if musty air of the storage room. When he made eye contact, he could see Jack's pupils constricting, but just to be sure Ianto walked forward and cupped the ammonia salts over Jack's nose again. Jack's revulsion was written all over his face as he pulled away and began gaping like a fish out of water, huge lungfuls of air clearing the fog. Jack looked around the room in confusion, then over at where Ianto was now leaning against a wall looking relieved, "Ianto?"
If he allowed himself, Ianto Jones would have slide down the wall and crumble from exhaustion; but the realities of the situation and the sharp twinge of pain he felt only allowed him a sigh of relief. "Finally. Take a few moments to sort yourself Captain and then we'll be getting off this level." Ianto pushed himself from the wall, but couldn't suppress muscle contractions that ran through his body; he hadn't allowed himself to realize just how brutal Jack had been. He carefully knelt down to retrieve the emergency kit he'd been carrying and allowed himself a handful of paracetamol which he dry swallowed with some effort. He felt a hand on his shoulder and tried to stop himself from cringing, but the damage was already done.
Jack knelt down and pulled Ianto's face towards him, so they were looking eye to eye; "What did I do?"
Ianto carefully stood up and offered a hand to Jack, "Doesn't matter. Let's just get off this floor." He pulled Jack back up and looked for a moment, then gave a half-nod and turned to the door. "We can't save them- save him. They're already lost." Ianto quietly opened the door and peered around, to see if it was clear and readied to leave this nightmare when Jack's hand clasped his forearm. He looked back at Jack and could see the shine in his eyes.
"I'm sorry."
Ianto pushed the door open and headed towards the staircase hatch.
