It was a great episode for banter, snide or otherwise :)
The fallout from both major incidents should be interesting. Part of me can't help but wonder whether there's some truth to Thandie's protest that the uni lied, even though she is less than perfect as a doctor!
Re: Thandie, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear in a few weeks that she "met with an accident" after going back to ethiopia. I must admit that I've been a bit uncomfortable with all the Thandie hate on the show over the last few weeks. Yes, she was/is a very difficult character to like and she did make a lot of mistakes but she wasn't all bad and and did have momments of making good calls about patients. The reaction from other members of staff fells very over the top and I can't help thinking this is building up to them having to feel guilty after her death.
Other than all that, great show, Dan had some wonderful "laugh-out-loud" quotes.
I thought Dan was great. Very happy and giggly drunk.
Overall, I think Holby handled the Thandie storyline very poorly. First, the back story on the official site pretty much says she's seeking refuge in the UK. Unfortunately, she lied so much that no one will believe her. Obviously she had some medical training. If she had come clean to Ric from the beginning, she would have been accepted. The reason the others could not tolerate her wasn't her incompetence as much as the penchant she had of blaming *others* for her mistakes. That could not be tolerated. Especially with Dan. If you come clean and admit your mistakes, Dan is very forgiving - as he was with Donna. But if you try to blame your mistakes on others, he takes no prisoners.
And when she attacked Elliot, they couldn't let it fly. She had to be shown up for what she was. If she had flunked out of medical school, then Ric would have backed her up and helped her with her education. It was the lying and hurting others that they could not tolerate.

Funny how in a month Holby has gone from 'bored now' to ABSOLUTELY GLUED TO THE SCREEN.
I'll definitely need to rewatch the scene where Dan was operating with Jac assisting. Didn't catch all the dialogue and it sounded hilarious.

Yeah, if Thandie had been honest, everything would be different.
