*Raises an eyebrow* I am curious what brought this on. I never knew that you felt strongly about this issue. It may not be my place to ask, but is this something you feel affects you personally?

Well - one of my two BFFs is trans, as are some of my current awesome friends, and some of their friends, and also yeah, I generally take the fact that people are fucking horrible to other people personally because, as a person, I really wish people would stop being fucking horrible to each other, regardless of whether it involves me or not.

Sorry to disappoint, I have no such angry/judgemental response.

I'm not Christian and don't consider myself bound to the moral basis laid down by the Bible (which has had more versions than you can shake a stick at, by the way - man, I'd love to learn Coptic and read the Ethiopian version); I would hardly argue you out of your beliefs on the subject and don't intend to try. I go with a general rule of respecting and not harming living beings regardless of who they (consensually) have sex with or what they choose to do with their own bodies; it's been working well so far, haven't killed anyone yet (despite temptations).

As for the rest of your commentary, although it was thoughtful of you to provide it, my journal is not your soapbox and this entry was not meant as an open discussion board. Please email me if you want to talk about either non-Christian morality bases or transgender issues further (after the last OSX update, AIM won't work for crap anymore, so I haven't been using it).
