It is possible to quiet yet not average. In that case, it is also possible to be loud and quite generic. Some would say "averageness" is just a fantasy we keep close to our hearts because it allows us to believe we are special. It is difficult to be you. It is difficult to be me. It is difficult to be just about anybody, because existing is a risky ordeal. Perhaps "average," and "generic," are blanket terms we apply to those people we don't know well enough to realize their idiosyncrasies.
I personally find many of the quiet aspects of life, many of the tiny things which largely go unnoticed very exciting.
I suppose you could say only some people are expressive, therefore only some are accessibly interesting. *shrug*
p.s. You forgot the part about your morning when we were both getting ready in the bathroom and I said to you, "Damn, I definitely look hotter than you today." You responded, "Shit, you're right!" You cried a little bit and it was very tragic. If you're going to be a journalist, you've got to be accurate, Shannon

This is quite true...but quiet can be taken in several different ways. The quiet I meant was more of a inaction, nothing happens in their life. Emily Dickenson was quiet in nature but she wrote amazing poetry that lives on today. Get what I'm saying?

This is true. But obviously I don't think I'm merely loud. Though being loud is a big part of who I am ;P

I'd throw that label more on people who don't aspire to do much with their lives...who are content to simply go on day in and day out doing the same old, same old..not taking risks, trying new things, etc.

Yes, well, we all fluff the truth from time to time ;P
