This has echoes of the previous pet Tony bits, but different universe, and it's different. I'll need opinion and beta please, I'm worried it's too contrived ( Read more... )

Oh god so wasn't expecting him to be a vampire. Love the twist.

Oh good, I was worry it's too contrived, in either Vampire Tony can be seen a mile away, or the hiding the hint that he's a vampire gets too ridiculous.

I want the readers to start with the impression that the reason that the other Avengers could never know, is because it's wrong to keep someone as a pet (without consent)! ...and not because they know, they will want to put down Tony because he is dangerous, to civilians. (and hey, I guess Quicksliver and Steve have something to talk about now, in hiding dangerous love ones department, in the it's so sweet but so very creepy vibe)

I'm not quite sure about the part right after Tony said that Steve should kill him, if I stretched it out too long. Like, the force him down part was something that's suppose to look like assault, but isn't...but the suppose to look like assault part could be too contrived.

No, no it was a good pace. I'd love to see this expanded, Steve trying to get him to drink blood for bags or a mug, maybe one of the Avengers or Pepper finding out (or Jarvis being so devastated Steve had to tell him).

I haven't got this planned much beyond what's up there, and that Jarvis and Pepper or even Rhodes absolutely cannot do the care-taking, because they don't have superhuman anything, and Tony will never forgive himself if he accidentally hurt them. (Tony won't kill Steve, he'll be full and sane before Steve is dead, and then he'll stop...but not sure about people who aren't supers ( ... )

I may end up haunting your journal if you keep posting these yummy little slivers of fic.

I'm a lurker, but can I offer an opinion? I think this was in-character, except for the part about Tony being ok without his tech toys. Tony's a very tactile person (it's part of his sexiness) and he practically lives in his workshop. He loves building things; it's comforting because he doesn't mess it up the way he does relationships, and because he likes puzzles. I just can't see him being any kind of happy without his gadgets, even though Steve was right to take away anything he could use to hurt himself.

Out of curiosity, how long has Tony been in hiding at this point?

I hope my unsolicited feedback doesn't come across as bitchy or anything. I am not well-versed in the ways of LJ and it's been years since I've even though about interacting with the communities I lurk in.

Well, not ok, but rather, 'can live without', and I meant that literally. Tony can have happy moments without them, but of course he doesn't stay happy. The worse thing is having nothing to do, nothing to work on.

I think if Tony was somehow stranded on a deserted island, or deserted planet, no advance technology to fiddle with (or build because there won't be any tools)...he can still be happy as long as he can build stuff. The way I see it is, Tony would be miserable as a pet, because he needs to work and play.

As for how long Tony has been there, I haven't worked it out yet! No so long that the Avengers suspect, but long enough that he's kinda broken, though it's not just the length of time but the he thinks of people like food when he's hungry aspect.
