I think using the Muggle vote is fine as long as people actually read the FAQ and rules so they understand WHAT the difference is between a No Vote and a Muggle vote, because there IS a big difference, and I don't think I would like both reasonings grouped under one big definition. It's off-putting to people who RECEIVE No Votes, when we have to try hard anyways to get people with No Votes to get over that stigma. Imagine having the definition of Muggle grouped under that as well?

Anyways. [/two cents]

I agree completely. I think that the Muggle vote is used wrongly in some cases, but I think that we need to keep it around and just educate our members more carefully on how and when to use it.

I think the issue of the muggle vote should stay, I mean some applicants do break the rules of applying and so with that they need to face the consequences. I just think that people need a correct defination in how to vote and use NO VOTES & MUGGLE VOTES that's all. Also I'm against screening answers because if thats done houses like Gryffindor & Hufflepuff who have a voting log to encourage their housemates to vote wont exist anymore...I mean it shows you whos voting and participating, and will encourage others to vote also, am I right?

How will we tally up votes and find out who's been sorting if they're screened?

Yes, so she and the mods will be the only ones able to see the votes. We've gotten into tallying them up at the Ravenclaw house, cheering on top sorters, and encouraging other people to vote. And I think it's good to see how many more people are week every week.

Well..

At least for Ravenclaw...

I'm the one who's been doing the Sorting Logs anyway... and I can see the screened comments... ;)

But, I believe Bunny answered your question... XD

In reality, I don't really care. I kind of like seeing what other people vote, sometimes it makes me reread the app. Like, whoa, everyone else thought PUFF? I saw a total SLTHERIN, what is up with that?

Really, I would like to get rid of the "what house don't you think you belong in" question, since that is usually where applicants get in trouble for "house bashing".

If they are answering the questions thoroughly and honestly, they will get sorted into the house that best suits them. What difference does it make what house they THINK suits them? Isn't the point that we are SORTING them?

I mean, for an off-topic example, I think I would look totally cute with bright pink hair. But you know what? I am probably wrong, because it just won't match my skin tone, no matter how much I want it to ( ... )

I think seeing others' votes can sometimes sway a person's vote. Some people read everyone else's votes and vote accordingly, so they don't have to be "wrong" or actually think.

I do what you do and read afterwards to compare :)

I absolutely agree with you on getting rid of that question. Very troublesome, that!

(And if you go with a different shade of pink perhaps? :) )

I think the Muggle votes should stay, though the definition needs to be read. I have seen some applications get a muggle vote because they thought that the applicet was pushing Slytherin. I think that is how some of the Slytherins are, and no one says that if someone is completly any of the other houses. So yeah, my comments.

And about screening them, I don't think that should be done. First, the sorting logs. Second, if my friend was appling I would want to keep track of where they might be going. Also if the votes are close, the person might want to count the votes themselves. If they are screened then they can't do that.

Ok, done with that. And I think the "Which House doesn't fit" question should have something on it like "One house only and have a very good reason about the quality, not that you don't like them".
