Have you read the article by the Daily Beast? It seems to confirm what the other sources are saying but is written in a slightly less batshit way.

I hope there's an explanation for why the time turner doesn't follow canon.

My favorite part: "and there was an illegal Time-Turner from Theodore Nott which was confiscated"

Yes my bb snake I am so happy knowing you have continued being a shady little sneak ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

My roommate says the whole ridiculousness about the time turner not acting like a regular one is probably bc Theodore Nott fiddled with it too, which. HEADCANON ACCEPTED.

He reveals that Theodore Nott’s Time-Turner was simply a prototype for one Nott was building for Draco’s father. He produces the perfected Time-Turner from his pocket-this one has a golden finish and doesn’t suffer from the five-minute limit.

YEP.

I actually like time travel (see, me running hptimetravel fest right now), but I didn't like that she had to break canon rules to use time travel in this play.

Yeah I read some spoilers by accident (due to stupid lj formatting not including someone's spoiler text on my flist) aaaaaaaaaand all I can say is WTF, really.

Nooooo I'm so sorry, I hate when I get spoiled when I don't want to (I usually don't but I figured I wouldn't be able to see the play live anyway)

But yeah. WTF. I wonder if part of it is just the way people condense the most WTF parts of the play in internet-speak, you know? But also, not really. Because I don't see how any kind of beautiful language can mask the wtf-ery present in the plot?

Well I just hope at least the Scorpius as Voldemort's son thing doesn't turn out to be true, because that's one of the most WTF parts of the whole thing, lol.

That's so far beyond ridiculous I'm not even dignifying it with a thought, lol.

Yeah ok but if Scorpius was really Voldemort's son, imagine what can of worms that would open???????? Like. You know. How much snake is old Snakeface anyway? Does he have the necessary parts? Or was there sex magic? Does JKR really want to get into that?????

Lbh, there's enough fic out there where Draco is infertile and Lucius helpfully lends a hand. I'd sooner believe that than Voldemort.
