I always enjoy seeing someone else's take on a minor character! Thank you for this one.

Oh, this was such a great look at the story of someone who is always there but is never really the focus. I can't help wondering who it is he'd been talking to!

Thank you so much for the review! In my mind he's talking to Snape, shortly after the battle, but if you see someone else, that's great, too!

Thank you so much! He's had a lot of years to gain perspective. He hasn't gotten enough to move on himeself, yet, but maybe someday..

How very sad and sweet. You've captured the Friar's voice and given him a reason to be friends with Severus. The two have so much in common.
I like the Friar quoting Severus' speech to the first years. It shows how much the House ghosts pay attention to happenings in the school.

Thank you so much! Yes, he would have heard the speech at least twenty or thirty times by then, accounting for at least two classes per year.

OOooh, some interesting backstory to the tale of the founders, and I think we can guess who Name Withheld is. Some interesting pralells - intended no doubt - between Snape and the Friar

Thank you! I'm not sure I intended the parallels at first, but once the story gelled in my mind and I pictured him telling it to someone, the Snape angle really took shape.
