NeverNever, huh? I suppose it would be too much to ask that it be the same NeverNever I know of...oh well. I'll take a bottle of that homebrew, if you don't mind.

Pale ale or stout?

Stout, definitely.

So what's the NeverNever, where you come from? I know of one, but my experiences here make me doubt the one you're talking about is the same place.

The NeverNever is what lies between the Borderlands and the World, just as the Border itself divides them from the Realm. Tricky place, full of wild magic. Not that magic is reliable anywhere in the Borderlands, of course.

You like to sing, Mr. - umm, what d'you like t'be called?

...Mister? I'd not thought this coverall to be that baggy. To speak true, I'm more used to male Truebloods being taken for female by humans.

No matter. I'm Tick-Tick; any other name I might have worn is of a self long dead.

*blushes* Sorry, ma'am. Where an' when I'm from it's mostly guys who're good with machines an' motorbikes, an' it's kinda dark in here. I'm Carrie, Tick-Tick, pleased t'meetcha.

Do you like to sing? I've just discovered this thaing called ka-ra-oh-kie, I don't think they had it in my day, it's like the music to songs without words so you can do the singin'. We had a singin' party here last week, an' it was so much fun.

I think Orient told me of such a thing, once. I've let myself be convinced to join a band for a song or to much to the dismay of the audience and thought it great fun indeed.

*inscrutable*

Twins are ill-omened? How so?

clockwork_elf October 23 2006, 05:45:38 UTC
I say not that they are, merely that legends would have it so. For there can be but one soul at a birthing, or so it is believed by some.

And if they did have a single soul, what do your people think of it? That one goes without a soul? That they share it?

That's the unlucky bit, you see. You'd not know which was the case.

"You said something about," Franky paused to check the application, "'if you've a device in need of repair, I can set it to rights.' What kinds of devices are you talking about?"

Near to anything that has moving parts, really. I'm afraid I've not had the chance to learn much of complicated electronics; such things fare poorly in the Borderlands, and in the Realm function not at all.

"Ah. Have you ever heard the term cyborg before?"

I've encountered the word in a book, I believe.

You've an interesting name, my lady. Where is it that you come from?

clockwork_elf October 23 2006, 14:39:41 UTC

I've come from Bordertown; there is no other place I consider home.

{I have renounced my family, and they, me. If you've kin-feud or kin-debt, look elsewhere.}

((OOC: No clue if you know her canon or not; B-Town elves pretty much look like Tolkien elves, but the culture seems a bit different. It's up to you if Legolas would understand what she just said or not, and if so how clearly. And sorry for the inbox spam. Damn fomatting errors!))

*able to understand enough of the words to get the gist of her message, and offers an abbreviated bow*

I seek no quarrel. Already I can tell we are from different realms, and yet, your native tongue is curiously similar to another language known to me... *he thinks on that for a moment before continuing*

What brings you here? Did you intend to come to this place?

((No worries about the reposts. I'm not familiar with her canon, but after googling for information, I'm intrigued. :) I think I'll hit the library soon...))

It's an odd thing, I admit freely, but I'm not sure how I came to be here.
