OOC: Thoughts on the Hogwarts_Hocus Halloween Hextravaganza?

Okay guys, sooo about the Halloween party that Jack is throwing. One slight detail, figured I'd check if people are okay with it.

Ryuuji-mun and Sarah-mun suggested that there should be some sort of spell that makes people change into the costumes they are wearing. Much like that wonderful episode of Buffy. Quite a lovely idea, I thought, so Jack' ( Read more... )

I like the stroke-of-midnight idea. Not only does it add to the creepy factor, it gives muns a chance to take part in the festivities but opt out of the spell-crack should they wish.

Grant-mun and I are toying with the idea of taking some of our interrelated chars into a costume-based James Bond scenario; obviously they'd have to have whole new sets of memories for their Bond personas in that case, and since their true selves don't really mean each other any harm, I like the idea that they'd snap out of it if somebody was about to actually get hurt. (We're also playing with the idea of having their various pets running around trying to cure them and keep them out of trouble.)

But all the chars we're talking about using in that case are former muggles - if it was a character like say Adam, I could see them having some self-awareness of their sudden zombiehood or vampirehood or what have you. Maybe it should be mun's choice on that part based on their char's innate qualities?

Just my 0.02...

*takes notes like mad* Yeah, if the character is a god/Antichrist/other really nifty supernatural thing, it makes sense for them to be more aware... The two cents are appreciated! *takes them, puts them in a secret bank account in Switzerland* Thanks!

I agree with Laura- mun on the stroke-of-midnight idea, though, to add to the crack, perhaps it only applies to the Great Hall? That way, if characters walk in and out, they could think something like, "La de dah, it's fun being me, whoops, appears I want to suck someone's blood, better go chase someone out of the Hall, hunh, that's odd, short-term memory loss."

I'm not terribly good at plots, so I'll leave that up to the more experienced muns....

(Oh! I love your phrasing on "Hey, gosh, I'm apparently a zombie now, how quaint", by the by).

*sniggers* Certainly makes for a fun mental image... *takes notes* Thanks for your input, and the compliment. I aim to amuse. =)

Heh, after a while of RPing, plots come naturally... =P

The midnight idea sounds really cool to me, because not only is it totally dramatic and awesome, but like Laura-mun said, it could give muns a chance to not participate in the costume-transforming aspect (what would you call it?). I think that the spell should probably only affect characters who are in the Great Hall at midnight. While I do like the idea of them being able to leave and wreak havoc all around the school, I can see how this could cause a headache for other muns. The hurty should not be allowed, so yay to spell-wearing-off-when-they're-going-to-hurt-someone.

I'm so much in love with this idea, by the way. It seems like a very wizarding-world thing to have happen on Halloween. :D

As others have said, stroke-of-midnight and characters-going-omg-wtf-when-they're-about-to-hurt-someone seems good.

Have I told you recently how much I love your plots? 'Cause I do.

Deactivating when someone looks like they're about to hurt someone else sounds like a great idea, really. The stroke of midnight sounds smart too.

Not sure about the other two, though.
