They needn't have worried. Primavera, for one, was eager to meet other self-styled 'dead girls'. Where she came from, her kind -- the Lilim, the 'dolls' -- were known as 'dead girls' since their metamorphosis changed much of the body to non-organic matter. Even though she would have scoffed at the notion if asked, secretly she cherished the irrational wish that here she might find again the kind of sisterhood she had only known once in her life, the brief time she'd lived in the stronghold of Titania, queen of dolls.
She carried a box of truffles. "Not magical, not from Honeydukes," she explained, setting them down on a table. "After what happened with chocolates in the Great Hall, I don't trust that stuff."
Anya went over to greet their first arrival. "That's probably a very good practice. Thank you for bringing the chocolates! I'm Anya, welcome to the club."
"Anya." Primavera repeated the name. "I'm Primavera Bobinski. Hufflepuff. And you're Emily, then?" she said to the other girl, who did appear to be dead in some way.
"Oh how lovely, thank you very much! As you see, we have tea and biscuits here, so you are welcome to sit down and help yourself." Emily paused to mentally go over the list. "Five more girls, I believe. But I could have miscalculated."
Ophelia drifted in, shyly. She took in the sight of the other girls and for a moment looked ready to run, but steeled herself as best she could and curtsied elegantly.
"Thank you! I usually do whole pies, but I thought something smaller would be better for a party." She smiled. "Good to see you again, Emily. This is such a great idea!"
"Good to see you too! And thank you! I think we will all benefit from this, or at least we have an excuse to meet new people." She smiled. "Please, do come in, sit down! Have some tea. Or hot chocolate. Mel brought it." She nodded towards the dark-haired angel.
Mitsuko stepped in slowly behind Carrie looking around warily. She hadn't brought anything. There weren't that many people here. Mitsuko was sort of disappointed.
Carrie stepped into the room behind Mitsuko and looked around.
"Well, there's a couple of people I recognize, at least. And there's food." She shrugged and pointed to Ophelia, Primavera and Laura. "Those three blonde girls are all in Hufflepuff with us, I think, but I've only ever met Ophelia, that's the sad-lookin' girl with the curls."
Mitsuko looked at them. What a sad, watery bunch. She raised an eyebrow. "Why is she so sad?" Mitsuko mumbled as she reached for the cookie she was much more interested in. No-one was really looking and she was the sexiest girl there anyway.
((I'm off for tonight, love. Great RPing with you, I'll continue tomorrow! :D))
((Thanks, you too! I'm having a blast with the whole club thing. I'm also Laura Palmer here & Ian Malcolm from your app BTW.))
"I think things didn't end well for her in her old life. Same man who broke her heart also killed her father, as I understand it, an' she's from a long time ago in history, when a girl had to depend on her father or her husband to live. So havin' her heart broke twice like that really was the end of the world for her," Carrie said. "It was a little confusin' at her Sortin', but I think that's the basic story. She's sweet, though. Likes to sing, an' so do I, so we're gonna sing together sometime. Hope it'll help."

There was nervousness in her voice still, but at least one of her worries had proven unnecessary. Someone had come. It was not a complete disaster.

She smiles back, gingerly. 'How many are you expecting?'
