Shopping in Hogsmeade! Rp for Adam, Carrie and Kaylee

Kaylee sends out two owls one for Adam and one for Carrie.

Time to go shopping! Meet me at the main entrance of the school and we can walk down together! ~ Kaylee

Then she waits, dressed in her favourite old overalls and blue Chinese silk jacket.

Carrie hurried down the drive to the main gate and waved to Kaylee.

"Hey! I think I'm ready." She patted a drawstring bag that hung over her right shoulder, and the pirate gold in it jingled. "We're just waitin' on your other friend, now?"

Kaylee smiles at Carrie and nods.

"His name's Adam, did you meet him at your sorting?"

She shook her head. "Don't recall an Adam, but I didn't get ever'body's name that was there. What's he look like?"

Kaylee's eyes glow a little and her cheeks go a tiny bit pink as she describes Adam.

"Well, he has blonde curly hair, and blue eyes. He's quite you know, buff and he's real friendly."

Setting aside his book when the owl arrives, Adam throws on his trainers, ties the laces, checks his t-shirt, and sets off from Gryffindor Tower. It takes a few minutes before he meets up with Kaylee and Carrie at the main entrance. He grins broadly.

"Hallo!"

Carrie turned, smiling, at the voice. But her smile faded as the young man neared.

She sensed the same kind of power in him she had in Damien Thorn, although he had none of Thorn's hostility. Which was confusing...

Adam knows instantly when the change occurs and his eyes go deeply compassionate.

"Is there somethin' wrong, Carrie?"

"You...remind me of somebody I met at my Sortin'," she says quietly. "A Mr. Thorn? You're not exactly like him, but - similar."

"Wow," Carrie breathes, awed. "We really made it out into space? Into real outer space, I mean? Don' know where we are now, but in '76 we'd made it to the moon an' were talkin' 'bout goin' to Mars but that was it!"

"We haven't gone much farther now," says Adam, eyes shining as he remembers his childhood thoughts on the future and space travel. "Haven't even been to Mars yet." He smiles mischievously. "We had a UFO in Tadfield once, but it was kinda an accident. What's your ship like?"

"Oh our ship is lovely!" Kaylee gets a faraway look and a distant smile. "Her name's Serenity, and I looked after her engine. She was a Firefly class aught-three model, which meant she had this thing she could do with the ion jets." Kaylee sighs.

"I had my own room, and a hammock in the engine room and the whole crew was just...just like a family" Kaylee's smile fades a little. "A few of them were here..."

"I heard somethin' about that," says Adam sympathetically. Not that he needs to have heard it, but Kaylee doesn't know that. "I'm real sorry that your friends are gone, but I'm sure you'll see them again." Being a touchy-feely kind of person, he lays an arm across Kaylee's shoulders, giving her a one armed hug as they walk and letting his hand fall to his side again at the appropriate moment.

"We can talk about somethin' else if you like, but your ship sounds awful neat."
