Less than a year ago Nico Minoru’s life was centered around marching band and reading books on mythical monsters. Now she was attending a school where the monsters weren’t mythical; they were real. And there was a class that allowed students to handle them. Yeah, she was so taking that class. This school was so bizarre and overwhelming and all ( Read more... )

Victor meandered over to Nico, hands in his pockets and looking vaguely cheerful-- in as much as Victor was ever cheerful. "You look pleased," he commented, sliding into a seat beside her, and snagging a piece of bacon from the platter still set out. "Are you enjoying yourself around here?" He seemed pretty relaxed himself, the constant tension that had seemed to have constant hold of his expression back in LA was mostly gone, in fact.

"Vic!"

When Victor arrived Nico let up. Seeing him confirmed that yep, all of this was real and yep, everyone was here. Good times. She nodded his head in response to his question and raised her glass of orange juice to her lips.

"Yeah, I'm excited to see everyone again. It's been what, a couple of months? And you look like you're in a pretty good mood as well"

Nico had picked up on the relaxed expression on his face and his body language. Although Victor really didn't strike Nico as that high strung to begin with. Gert put magnets on him when he was asleep and he didn't flip out over that.

Karolina made her way over to the table her friends had commandeered. "Hey guys," she said as she sat down opposite Nico. "Do either of know why there are empty pie tins everywhere?"

"People like their pie here?"

Nico said with a helpless shrug and her eyes glanced around to look at the empty pie tins. She was surprised that the houseelves hadn't showed up yet to remove the pie tins. She stared at Karolina for a moment, looking thoughtful, and then she glanced down at her OJ. At some point the two of them really needed to sit down and talk about what happened just before she left. Or that was going to lead to some awkwardness later on.

Karolina shrugged. "I guess so. It's rude of them to leave them lying around though." She noticed that Nico was avoiding looking at her. While she understood the reason for the other girl's actions, Karolina still felt a little hurt. One day the two of them would have to talk about what happened, but not today, with the others around.

"So, what have you all been up to while I was gone?" she asked.
