Ravenclaw Quidditch Meeting

Feb 27, 2006 22:34

It seems we're up for a Quidditch match next week. We have a full team but if anyone else wants to sign up for reserves, change positions, etcetera before the next game, be sure to say so. Now, we're a player short, with a position for Beater open.

Current Roster )

l, quidditch, walden macnair, rp, ravenclaw

*pulls L aside so no one else can hear*

I uh.. I was supposed to be captain. At least that's what Sara said, but we haven't spoken in a few weeks. I'm not sure if I pissed her off or something, but I don't want to get in the way of the game. If you need me to withdraw, I will.

No, withdrawing would be unnecessary. I think it'd be fine if you stayed on as beater, you seem to have a passion for it that a substitute would lack. And recalling our prefect elections, you have a large probability of being captain anyway if you announce it.

... *was given the position by Sara, doesn't think he has to claim it again*

Never mind. *doesn't want to be mean to L, doesn't even KNOW the guy*

You don't need me on the team. You'll be fine. I'll watch from the stands. *isn't feeling too welcome in this house anyway, not that that's L's fault, once again, doesn't even know him and is trying very hard not to take it out on him*

((OOC: I apologize for Walden. He gets irrational sometimes. Most of the time.))

*Is acting indifferent*

Like I said, you don't have to leave. You're welcome to join again later when you change your mind.

((*g* It's okay. L isn't exactly warm and comforting.))

Practice would be a good thing. I'm not even sure how many of our players have played before.

I might be interested in a reserve position, although I admit I don't have much experience with flying in general, and none with Quidditch. Does it have any resemblance at all to field hockey? I was rather good at that at the Quirm College. That and any other sport involving waving a long stick around.

Isn't that a little Freudian?

It looks like we're short a Beater anyway. From what I've heard, you seem to have a natural aptitude in that direction.

I'm not familiar with the term "Freudian", but I think I know what you mean. And maybe, but mostly it's genetic. You know, the scythe and all that.

Well, I'll give it a try. Thanks. I think.

Well, I suppose sometime a long hard object is only a murder weapon.

Should make for interesting games. What? It was an observation.
