"Fission batteries? Been a while since I've seen those. Bit hard to keep stable, aren't they?" From the eager glint in his eye, it might be guessed that the Master wasn't all that stable either.

"Oh, I think the gold and the battery should be sufficient, don't you? And the odd bit of technical assistance, but you'll get more out of that than I will." He probably shouldn't make a Tissue Compression Eliminator, but maybe a stripped-down version of his laser screwdriver... tone it down a bit, tweak the design, rename it (he didn't have to be so flagrantly derivative now that he wasn't trying to make a point, after all)... yes, that would be a fun little project.

"Mobiliarbus!" He tapped the gold bar with his wand as he spoke the incantation, and the bar obediently rose, hovering beside him. The battery he pocketed. "Now, as to what house you belong in. Got anything in mind?"

She kept watching the floating bar with fascination and filed away the word for future reference. The last time she saw something like this was when the Courier hit the Z key. "Hufflepuff, I think. Maybe Ravenclaw."

"Well... apparently Hufflepuff's the place for someone who likes to be helpful, which I like to think I could be, and Ravenclaw's the place for someone who likes to know things - even if," she admitted with a quirk of the lip, "I used to fall asleep in Scribe Taggart's lectures."

"You don't need to be in a House to learn things," he told her with an amused, if somewhat inelegant, snort. "But Hufflepuff also tends to be underestimated, and that's useful.
