Drown Your Sorrows (Open RP: Little Green Apple)

Kuronue loathed feeling like he was being watched. Not because Yukimura was staying close (this was, in fact, a comfort to him) but because it was his own paranoia telling him that whomever had hired Akabane was around and it could have damn well been anyone. He disliked having his power and confidence stripped from him, he even disliked the fact ( Read more... )

Kaga didn't go out much anymore.

He just felt safer in his room than in public where people could get at him. But on occasion he could gather the nerve to leave, such as right now.

He wasn't sure what compelled him to go visit the Little Green Apple. Perhaps it was just because he was hoping Yukimura or Kuronue would spot him and he could talk with them.

"Kuronue!" he said in greeting as he entered, and ordered something stronger, nothing he would have ordered were he by himself, but he was near friends.

Kuronue was relieved to see Kaga, in a way. He patted the chair beside him in his cosy little booth. "Hello, Kaga," he said.

He didn't exactly look his normal self. Hair down, hat missing and wearing a yukata, with bruises and messy hair, he looked like he felt. Which was shit. "Have a seat," he said, nodding to the chair.

There was something...off...about Kuronue, off yet naggingly familiar to Kaga, but he couldn't quite place it.

"It is good to see you again," Kaga said as he sat down. "I have been horribly remiss in visiting my friends."

"Indeed, it's been a while. Your owl said you were away, where did you go?" he asked, refilling his cup.

He probably should have gone to find Kusuriyuri immediately, but things just kept distracting him. The Doctor. Angels. Kuronue.

Kuro. How much time had past while he, Mello, and Sephiroth had been in Makai? Time moved differently there sometimes, but... Oh, who the hell cared. As long as Kuronue was up and around and alive and doing at least relatively okay.

He hovered at the end of the bar, unsure how to approach, settling with a soft "hey" and shoving his hands in his pockets. So Kuronue wouldn't see them shaking.

He looked up and gave Kurama a strained smile. "Hey," he returned, waving Kurama over to the booth. "Come sit."

Kurama slid into the booth opposite Kuronue, trying not to be too obvious in checking him for any external injury, any sign that things still needed fixing.

If I had just noticed, if I had just known something was wrong when I saw them...

Fucking Akabane. Kurama would turn his life into hell, when he had the chance. For now though, for now he had to put that aside and make sure Kuro was all right.

"How're you holding up?" He asked, lamely.

Kuronue, having been watching Kurama closely, noticed despite Kurama trying to look. There were bruises, but they were fading quick. He turned his glass on the table restlessly. "Well, I can tell up from down now. Thanks to Kusuriyuri. But..."

He had to remind himself that it was okay to talk with Kurama. He was like Yukimura, he was safe. Even if memories of the past seemed all the more fresh and real somehow. He was reminded of just how cruel Kurama could be, had been. "I can't...touch and it's... not me." He frowned and drank from his glass, to distract himself from the awkwardness, his own anxiety.

Yukimura was, indeed, in the bar. Not only did he want to stay near Kuronue while giving him a chance to get out, to see his friends again, he also needed a drink. Dressed semi-incognito in modern clothes they picked up on their trip, the effect slightly spoiled by his sword at his side, he sat in a booth in the corner, a light touch on Kuronue's mind, should he be needed, and a bottle of sake at his elbow.

(For those who feel better about pulling Yuki in if he's, y'know, around)
