The 'dress for somewhere warm' had thrown her, actually. TARDIS-travel was soundly part of Amy's worldview, but the thought of using magic just hadn't occurred to her. But given her taste for short, snug skirts, it was easy for her to whip together an outfit well suited to a tropical destination. What she had to spend time on was makeup and hair. She didn't usually fuss so about little details like that, but she expected Rory to wow her, so she was by-damn going to wow him.
"...wow." Rory was briefly stunned. "You look - amazing." Not that Amy didn't always look amazing, but... wow.
He snapped out of his daze after a second, and picked up the bag he'd packed with everything he thought they might need. On the top was something wrapped in white fabric, which he unwrapped a corner of, cautiously, revealing the top of a glass milk bottle.
"Right. This looks weird, but it's going to work, I promise. We've both got to touch the bottle at the same time, so when I say three..."
Exactly the reaction she'd been aiming for, and she'd certainly put in the effort! She gave him a confident smile, wrapping an arm around Rory's waist and kissing his cheek.
"We need to... touch a bottle?" Well, yes, it was strange, but she didn't have much use for automatic disbelief.
Rory returned the kiss, and nodded. "Yeah, and - the bloke who told me how it worked said we should hold on to each other. So..." He looked down at her arm, and wrapped his own around her shoulders. "There. Holding on."

Finally, she was satisfied with the results.
"All right, mister! Time for warm in February."
