Zelgadiss had evidently been to the library in another of his increasingly sporadic attempts to find a Clair Bible manuscript or some other way to reverse the spell that made him a chimera in the books there. To be fair, Terezi had heard him coming. It was quiet enough in the castle this time of the evening - Terezi still found it a little disconcerting that the majority of people here were diurnal, although she knew perfectly well that Earth's sunlight was much milder than Alternia's. Her hearing wasn't her strongest sense, certainly, but she still relied on it a bit more than most sighted people.

Still, it had been a bit of a surprise when she'd suddenly smelled him in front of her, and admitting that the near-collision was as much her fault as his would have been more or less against her principles as a troll, so she exaggerated her stumble a little, flailing her arms until she found the wall with one hand. "Watch where you're going! Jegus, running a blind kid over like that."

"I did say I was sorry." He raised an eyebrow as he looked her over. "And I didn't run you over. I didn't even touch you; you're not hurt at all. Trust me, I can tell."

"I thought you said you were blind. How can you tell what color I am?" Still, he had to admit she was perfectly correct on the non-human thing. Well, two-thirds correct, anyway. "I'm a chimera."
