Tormenting the Natives (Open RP)

Magic made it considerably easier to shift the wooden sculpture he'd carved down to the Great Hall. He placed it just beside the door. There was a lot of traffic there, he'd noticed, student had to eat, after all, though some took their food elsewhere. It was a large statue, about the same size as Apos, which seemed short to everyone else here.

Lezard could eat for entertainment or for social purposes, though he did not actually need food. Visits to the Great Hall were not so much a necessity as an excuse for people-watching.

Or, in this case, for art appreciation.

"My. What a striking example of 'outsider art'."

"Like her, do you?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. He remained against the wall a little ways off, but he was visible to those who were looking for him.

"I have seen better, but she does have a certain something about her. Who was the model?"

The more he saw of this school, the more it impressed Drosselmeyer. The old man walked around the sculpture several times, grinning widely and rubbing his hands together as he did so. "How very detailed. The expression is perfect! Ah, my dear, if only you could tell me the cause of your martyrdom..."

Needless to say, his tragic sensibilities were piqued.

"The dead tell no tales," he said, smiling at the man. He pushed off the wall and walked over to the man.

Drosselmeyer chuckled. "Ah, if only that were true." The people of Gold Crown Town would have been a lot happier without a dead author continuing to script their lives after they'd gotten rid of him. "Well, even if she remains quiet, I suppose there's always the hope that someone else could tell her story in her place."

"Ah, but her story will never be told, and that's the beauty of it." especially since her story had been such a happy one, and he'd taken it to the dizzying heights of happiness to the lowest of depravity and pain before killing her.

It took a little time for The Doctor to pry himself away from Rory and Amy ( and a little explaining that three, in the case of bath-taking, really was a crowd) so he took to the hallways of Hogwarts, examining the art, the reappearing and disappearing rooms, staircases, and halls, and the artwork. It was mostly conforming to the gothic/medieval aesthetic, so-

Wait just a second, this was interesting.

The doctor did a slightly wobbly 360 on one heel and went back to more closely examine the statue. Carved of wood, horrifyingly grotesque, but with no small amount of artistic skill. He crouched, hands on his knees, and stared intently at the statue. Someone had a lot of sexual issues they needed to work out.

Apos watched the man for a while, then decided he wanted to play. He pushed himself off the wall and made his way to him. He stopped beside him, looking down at him. He smiled. "Hello," he greeted, then looked to his carving. "What do you think?"

"I have no idea," the Doctor said, glancing up at the young woman.... man... woman? Ma... ask later. "You're the artist?"

"I am," he said, slipping his hands into his pockets. He looked to the sculpture. "She's beautiful, she was one of my favourites." Not the carving, but the real woman who the sculpture was based on.

Koromaru and Fuuka had gone outside to have a walk. Which quickly turned into a chase, ending in two tired but laughing SEES members.

Having run around in hot weather, they decided water was in order, and headed for the Great Hall.

Fuuka stopped short when she saw the statue though. Koromaru looked up at her with a questioning look on his face.

"Let's go to our room instead. Quickly."

Pulling out her Evoker, she began to run.

Pity she chose his direction to run in.

He pulled his sword from his hip and held it out across the hall, more or less blocking her way. He wanted to see how she was. Smiling, he said, "Ah, Fuuka. How are you, darling? Healing well?"

Panic was making Fuuka sloppy, had she concentrated, she would have known he was there and ran the other way.

Screaming, she backed up, summoning her Persona.

Because Koromaru was at her feet, he ended up trapped in the Persona with her. He was whimpering as he saw her panic, then began to growl at the stranger.

The Persona again. He sighed. "Ah, Fuuka, why do you have to hide from me?" He walked up to her persona, placed his hand on the shell that kept them separate. He had no great skills unlike some people here, without Immortals here, he was somewhat less in power than he normally was. Then again, that was what he was trying to fix, wasn't it.

"Are you hungry, love?" he asked, leaving her for a moment to retrieve the fruit from the sculptures hands, then returning to her.

Teru stared at the carving, feeling a chill of revulsion. The thing was hideously detailed - the product of a sick mind, he thought, and tried to ignore the mocking whisper of mental commentary that came back in Mello's voice.

Was he paranoid for feeling it wasn't only a statue? Perhaps. His mind was on edge, and maybe it always would be until his scheduled death, and it was quite possible this had no more sinister purpose than to disturb passers-by, but he was suddenly very glad that Masuyo wasn't with him. She liked to climb.

One hand went to his pocket, gripping his wand, ready to draw it as he took a step closer.

Apos watched for a while, then tilted his head and took a few steps forward. He wouldn't mind being seen by this one, not really. "Do you like her?" he asked, honestly curious. "I spent a lot of time on her." He'd tried to carve everything, right down to her split lip and broken thumbs.

Teru turned sharply to face him. He didn't need the Eyes to know who this must be - blond, with a sword and a twisted mind... Paralyze him and leave, Yukimura had said. And he wanted to, memories of pain and helplessness flooding back, he wanted to run as far as he could. Wanted to and should.

But. That would leave someone else to be preyed upon, wouldn't it? He should find out what the trap was here, then he could do something about it. Not just flee at the first sign of danger like a - a mouse.

"I can see that." He made his voice cold, scathing, the tone he'd used in courtrooms far too long ago, tearing down a weak defense case. "What do you want?" It almost didn't shake at all. Even though somewhere deep inside he knew how stupid this was, and that responsibility had nothing to do with it. He was simply too proud to run.

"You haven't answered my question. How can I answer you if you have not answered me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. His smile remained, voice pleasant.

Another rabbit perhaps? No, this one was a mouse.
