The house elves were arranging presents under the tree, well, what can fit anyway. Some of the bigger and more mobile things were placed nearby. Each gift has a pretty tag saying who it's for.
And where was the dog that arranged all this?
Er...he's sleeping on the table. Lots of yummy treats will do that to you.

Still, he did his part, got the info on his secret Santa from a house elf, and got him an appropriate gift. And so we come to his gift. He eyed it as if he expected it to attack before opening it.
His expression changed to one of surprised delight. A katana!

The singer was more interested in what some random jackoff had given Ofdensen, anyway. He was pleased to see it was something that Ofdensen apparently liked, if his expression was anything to go by. It looked a lot like the sword Nathan had used to poke the death worm thingy that had electrocuted him. "So you're not pissed I signed you up?" he asked as he came over. He did have some idea of how Ofdensen felt about Christmas, and actually shared his sentiments for the most part-but he'd thought the Secret Santa thing might at least be fun for him.

At last, she came to the conclusion that no Christmas present was forthcoming, and so, bitterly disappointed, she wandered over to a punch bowl the house elves had set up and poured herself a glass, looking around for someone to emote to.

Lezard remembered her. She'd been Sorted perhaps a fortnight prior. Inspired by god-knows-what audacity, he asserted:
"I had hoped to see you, that I might give you this Yule gift, which I planned months ago."
He then regifted her with something from the basket his Secret Santa had left him. The first item that came to hand was the $5 Hot Topic gift certificate. (At least it wasn't the gay wizarding porn.) Apparently Lezard felt himself quite above the rules of Secret Santa. He had gotten it into his head that whoever ran Secret Santa had personally invited him to be involved, and therefore he could do whatever he liked. All this despite the fact he hadn't checked to see who was in charge of the Secret Santa exchange this year. (Was the name on the sign-up sheet? Presumably; but reading it would involve too much work, those many months ago!)
"I have done so many things, months ago, that I scarcely could recall what I had listed. How fortunate we should meet at this party!"

She flashed Lezard a brilliant smile. "Why, I'm flattered, Mr. Valeth," she preened. "Especially because you obviously anticipated my coming when I didn't even know I would be here myself!" She fluttered her eyelashes, then looked away, shamefaced. "I'm afraid I don't have anything for you, though."

((Say, how many of them are in the herd, anyway?))

The raptor was crouched on the table thoroughly enjoying his boar feast. He looked up from it long enough to notice Sweden opening the gifts that Jasper had completely helped pick out and wrap, since the dinosaur sort of lacked the skills necessary for such tasks. Nonetheless, apparently not even he was immune to the holiday spirit. He tore off a chunk of the boar and hopped off the table, going over to Sweden and chirping at him, offering the meat.

Sweden took the meat in his hand and took a bite out of it. Yes, raw. It's not the weirdest thing he's ever eaten.
"Th'nk you." He gestured to his little herd and his coat. "Y're m's'cret Santa?" he asked.
[[Good to know. Minus one that's going to Cathy, I've already got names in mind for all of them :P]]

"That isn't funny."

He opened the present with his gift, almost missing it because his names were reversed, remembering Mello's comment about Westerners giving their family name after their given name.
The blade was amazing. He hefted it, turning it between his hands to examine the artistry in it. When he ran his finger over the cannelure, he saw the change in color as the heat of his body warmed the blade. He took it to a near by candle and held it near, just enough to warm the metal and watched the effect. He laughed, amused and very pleased by the blade.

He held his new dagger between them, his grip easy, the blade pointed down, obviously not a threat. He raised his hand, balancing the blade between his hands. "Have you seen such workmanship?" he asked, obviously delighted.

Ofdensen looked at the dagger with impressed eyes. "Quite good." Not to his tastes, of course, but still well.
