((Jasper, Valentine, and Hook mentions were approved by their players. =) ))It was time for Part 2 of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen's class on Muggle Warfare. Perhaps slightly overdue, as snow had settled over the grounds, but, he hadn't been willing to hold the event while the infant-sun monstrosity still lingered in the sky. But now, it was gone, and

But if he went out in the field with them, he'd risk missing someone attacking altogether.
No choice. He'd go out into the field.

"What are we, uh, supposed to do again? That guy talks too fucking much." His voice was somehow even more gravelly than usual. He glanced up at Ofdensen from where he was seated, and informed him, "I think I'm gonna... take a... nap."

By all means, Nathan had every right to go back in and go back to bed. They would be down a man, but it'd be better than him staying out here, a sitting duck.
"No Nathan," Ofdensen said, reaching for his helmet. "If you're sick, I'd rather you go inside and nap there. You'll just be a sitting duck out here, and I don't want a stray bullet to catch you."

Course, once the Baron started the game, George ran forward with his gun, yelling "TALLY HO!"

The wool peacoat I wore was open, allowing me access to my Browing in a comfortable crossdraw holster. The Firestar was in its inner pants holster; uncomfortable, but necessary. My silver knives were strapped to my forearms. Hey, the idea was to use weapons, but there were vampires about and I wasn't going to start getting careless. I grimaced at the choice of weapons. AK-47's? I had a terrible time with them.. rifles didn't work well when you had short arms.
Still, I grabbed a rifle and slung it over my shoulder, heading for the bunker. There wasn't much strategy to this game, but better get to know who I was going to be shooting with.

"I'm guarding the flag," he said in a voice which brooked no arguement. "Someone has to."
Meanwhile, Turlough was speaking to no one, just making a place for him to stand so he could shoot people over the wall.

"Fine. I'll head over the wall. Is anyone else coming with me?"

He hadn't asked Snape for the same reason. He'd figured the outright foolhardiness of this entire undertaking would give Snape apoplexy.
"Think we'll regret this?" he said to Igor. It wasn't even a rhetorical question.

Arya did not pay much attention to the rest of her team. Even if she had considered her team a pack of sorts, they weren't her pack. And besides, experience had given the lie to the idea that the pack could outsurvive a lone wolf.
Besides, she would doubtless be dismissed as a useless little girl. Fair enough. She could work with that.
Clad in dark gray, she might be able to blend with shadows in the snow. She was small and quick, and could very well be overlooked. She was used to snow. And she gathered that people here almost never expected to be attacked by an eleven year old girl. Carrying her rifle, as well as Needle strapped to her hip, she slipped out past the wall of her team's base. Quiet as a cat. Watchful as a hawk.

Nathan simply assumed the girl who'd come from the red side was on his team, and provided cover fire for her accordingly. Yeah, the kid had obviously signed up on her own, but there was just something about shooting at kids that seemed seriously... unmetal, and rather lame, but he doubted that would prevent the jackoffs on the other team from trying to hit her. On the upside, it appeared that the other team was bound to lose, so hopefully she wouldn't be out there long. And it would be pretty fucking hilarious to Nathan if the kid managed to capture the other team's flag and/or maim one of them, so there was that.

Arya flattened herself against the ground and fairly slithered into the nearest trench, narrowly avoiding fire from someone equally as hidden as she, if more distant by the sound of it. A grim smile crossed her face as she heard the closer shots from behind her. Perhaps her teammates weren't as inept as she had thought they might be. Good.
She took a second to recover her balance, adjusted the grip on her rifle, and scrambled back up a shallower portion of the trench, squeezing off quick bursts of gunfire in the general direction of the gunfire that had originally sent her into hiding. The recoil was still a force to be reckoned with, but she had done a lot of practicing since that first lesson. She could handle it. She was positive she could handle it.

The Baron had never seen a more disorganized attempt at war game execution, even amongst green recruits. It was definitely going to to produce some entertaining scenes for he and Valentine to enjoy, even if it wouldn't prove strategically interesting. He watched everyone down on the field intently, finding his attention drawn to the small figure of Arya. He'd been rather concerned when a young girl had signed up, but, he'd seen her in the first class, and, she seemed the sort to harbor surprises. He was from a world where children did learn to fight. And watching Arya, he realized that she probably had actual experience- regardless, she was doing everything right. He was actually impressed, and pointed her out to his companion. "This little girl knows what she's doing ( ... )
