A flying carpet? The Sorting Hat was all up ons.

Okay, this was definitely the strangest thing that had happened to Rihana since she'd come here. An ensorcelled hat?

Never mind, though. She was a merchant; she was used to negotiating with strange and off-putting people. How bad could a hat be?

"Pink? Well, I have a few rugs that have pink in them." She didn't add that most men she dealt with specified that they did *not* want pink in their rugs. Hasan hadn't ever minded, but Hasan and his "sword brother" Omar were . . . special. "How does this one tickle your fancy? I think it's gorgeous, and it flies very well. Just keep red wine away from it; most rugs get a little twitchy around anything that stains."

((Even greater apologies -- we apparently came down with a bad case of "slipped through the cracks"!))

"Oooh!" exclaimed the Hat as it stroked the carpet with one of its straps. "Consider my fancy to be rolling on the floor with irrepressible giggles and on the verge of losing bladder control! Now, considering I'll be using it for the purposes of magical and mystical romance with my love, I can't promise a complete lack of stains, but I do believe red wine is far harder to remove than Hat love juices."

The slightly burlappy scent of Hat TMI remained in the room for several seconds after the Hat hastily rolled up the carpet, tucked it into its brim, made the Sorting announcement, and bounced excitedly out of the Sorting Room.
