La Fee Verte wasn't an Incarnation, per se, more of an anthropomorphic personification. Still, it was almost common ground.

"You need to calm down, sweetheart. Have a drink?"

Ah, now Colleen was forced astride the horns of a dilemma. It was rather unladylike to be astride and one did have to be careful how one sat upon horns. She shook her head. "Much as I be a likin' a drink," she said, believing that said drink was to be alcoholic and thus far superior and rather masculine a drink, "I canna say I be trustin' ye."

"Oh, dearie,", La Fee Verte cooed, "You really need to relax."

Colleen shook her head again. "Thank ye kindly, but...I canna be trustin' anyone," she said, backing away.

Of all the Sortings to attend -- considering how rarely he attended any -- Simon just had to chance into this one.

"Ah, can I help you?"

Sleep blinked at the newcomer. He was...well, not bad on the eyes. But, in this strange place, looks didn't mean much of anything. "How am I ta be gettin' out o' here? I've work to do," she said, stopping just shy of the traditional rant of men not knowing what that was.

((Have a not-bad-on-the-eyes icon, even though in this thread Simon is shirted and vested.))

Simon tried his best to be soothing. "I can't blame you on either account. Wanting to get out of here, or wanting to get back to work. I'm a bit of a workaholic myself." He considered offering a hand to shake, and decided against it as the lady seemed liable to interpret it as threatening rather than reassuring. "Dr. Simon Tam. I'm sorry we aren't meeting under better circumstances. Can I ask who you are and what the work is that you're needing to get back to?"

Well, that wasn't a name she'd heard for Old Nick before. "Dr. Tam," she murmured, dropping slightly in a curtsy, though she kept her distance from him and her eyes were wary. "I be known by many a name. Somnos, Hypnos, Sleep." She waved her hand indicating that any and all would be correct. "I be holdin' the office o' the Incarnation o' Sleep and me name be that o' me office."

"Old Nick?" Damien asked. He knew the name well. Not only did his father go by it, but it was also the name of a pike that lived in a stream by his childhood home. "What business do you have with the devil?"

"I'll be havin' none, thank you very much," Colleen said shortly. She scowled at this new man. He set something off in her brain, but she couldn't quite identify it.

"Then why do you bring his name into your application?" His eyes narrowed into a glare to match her scowl. "Or do you like bringing trouble on yourself?"

"Because that foul fiend be in th' habit o' testin' all new Incarnations," she said, her tone implying that this should be exceedingly obvious even to the dimmest person. "An' now, ye be testin' me, too, I'm thinkin'. I'll be havin' none o' that." She crossed her arms over her chest, vowing to herself she wouldn't speak again. This, however, could prove too much a vow for her to hold.

"Old Nick?" Kurama looked at the little crazy girl curiously. "As in, Old Hob? Iblis? The Morning Star?" He kept going, compiling the entire list of names the western 'devil' went by, quite happy to keep going until he reached the very end or until stopped. The smirk on his face was just a degree sout of entirely dickish.

"Ye be tryin' to summon him?" she demanded, hands on hips. "Ye be twice a fool then."

"No, why would I?" He lifted an eyebrow, and his ears twitched lazily. "I wasn't aware that just saying His name was enough, though, knowing how the Gods work, he might be just as bored and nosy."

Colleen was too appalled by the words to really take in appearances. "He be no god!" she spat. "He...he just be another Incarnation," she stammered, not completely sure of that, but it is what she'd been told. "What mean ye, 'how th' gods work?'" She really doesn't want to know, but...
