"I'll be with you in a minute," he said absently, not even sparing the slightest glance for Akabane. The plant in the pot grew, surrounded by his youki, and flourished for a moment, but when he took his hands away, it wilted, withering away into nothing. Kurama sighed, disappointed, slid off the work table and picked up the pot.
"Some things were just never meant to thrive in captivity. Walk with me, if you please?" He gestured to the outer door, and then looked down at the box under Akabane's arm, smelling and seeing the blood. "Looks like you enjoyed yourself."

"I doubt you would have found any particularly strong demons," He ssaid, standing up ans stretching. "Nothing above class B, anyway." He smirked then, really looking at Akabane for the first time. "Above that, though, may have been a challenge."

Akabane watched Kurama stretch. He touched the brim of his hat with his free hand. "Are you offering a challenge?" he asked. "Or did you wish to take care of the business you needed this for first?" Either way, Akabane would be willing.
