The Transporter Delivers ((Closed RP, Akabane, Kurama, Karasu))

The job had been quite entertaining. While seemingly simple, pick up a box and return it to Hogwarts, there had been very entertaining guards and detractors along the way. At first, the maker didn't want to part with it for a 'mere human'. Akabane's signature on his lackey's back had changed his mind about that protest. Akabane had tipped his ( Read more... )

Kurama was indeed in the greenhouses... the first, specifically. He sat cross-legged on top of one of the work tables, hands cupped around a tiny pot containing a single flower, a look of deep concentration on his face.

"I'll be with you in a minute," he said absently, not even sparing the slightest glance for Akabane. The plant in the pot grew, surrounded by his youki, and flourished for a moment, but when he took his hands away, it wilted, withering away into nothing. Kurama sighed, disappointed, slid off the work table and picked up the pot.

"Some things were just never meant to thrive in captivity. Walk with me, if you please?" He gestured to the outer door, and then looked down at the box under Akabane's arm, smelling and seeing the blood. "Looks like you enjoyed yourself."

"Oh?" Akabane asked. "Just what kind of plant is it?" Whether Kurama answered or not didn't matter that much. "And, yes, the job was quite enjoyable. I had hoped, though, that demons would be more of a challenge," he said, his tone of voice still amused. He followed Kurama, not offering the box. Kurama would tell him when he wanted. Until he was told the job was complete, he would fulfill it. He was the ultimate professional.

"A little something from Little Heaven. They used to grow on earth, long ago. I thought I might try reintroducing, but alas." He lead Akabane out of the greenhouse and around to one of the piles of compost, carefully emptying out the pot before setting it with other empties waiting for transfers.

"I doubt you would have found any particularly strong demons," He ssaid, standing up ans stretching. "Nothing above class B, anyway." He smirked then, really looking at Akabane for the first time. "Above that, though, may have been a challenge."

"The world has changed from the time it could have been called that. There are places, though, that hold something of their original beauty, far from the places commonly traveled," Akabane said, watching Kurama dispose of the failed plant almost clinically.

Akabane watched Kurama stretch. He touched the brim of his hat with his free hand. "Are you offering a challenge?" he asked. "Or did you wish to take care of the business you needed this for first?" Either way, Akabane would be willing.
