Great Hall, Lunchtime (Open RP)

May 26, 2009 10:20

The problem--well, one problem--one of the many major problems--with having students from everywhere is that some of them are going to have habits that are very unpleasant to the rest of them.

The Corinthian, for example, has decided to eat lunch in the Great Hall today. He's using all three mouths to do so, and his lunch mainly consists of eyeballs ( Read more... )

Sage puts her tray down next to him. Because she's totally not afraid of the eye-guy. Totally not afraid. And she feels bad about her reaction earlier.

"What're you eating?"

He smiles wryly and holds one out to her.

"I am a nightmare, after all.

"They're not bad, really."

He pops it into his left socket and bites down.

Sage scrunches back. Ok, kinda cool, but still eyeballs. She studies her own plate closely, only the tiniest choking sound escaping.

"Not too much to cope with, is it?"

((I'm not sure why, but your post is formatted strangely. It might be a result of rich text.))

After eating many meals with beings from all across the galaxy, Tenel Ka wasn't disgusted or disturbed by the Corinthian, or his meal.

"Greetings," she said as she put down the tray she was carrying with her right hand. She set down the book she'd been carrying under the stump of her left arm. Tenel Ka proceeded to eat in silence, as her practical nature precluded small talk.

Sage gave her a furtive look from underneath her hair. "hey" she said quickly.

((I'm not sure how Sage's powers work, but Tenel Ka is a Jedi, if that makes any difference.))

Tenel Ka nodded, her red braids swaying back and forth as she did. "Hello," she said.

Sage gave her a nod. At least this one wasn't eating eyeballs. Will and focus practically radiated from her.
"Good peaches." Sage said through a mouthful.

"Does the color affect the taste?" Kurama asked, taking a seat across from the Corinthian. He'd seen people eat human flesh off the still-living human, bugs, dirt, and other interesting and rather squicky things, but eyeballs were new. At least, not that he could recall. It had been a long time.

"Somewhat, yes. At least for me, I'm not sure if it would be the same for someone who wasn't designed to eat them."

"Interesting..." Kurama examined the eyes a moment longer, before gesturing to the plate. "May I try one?"

This is a rather welcome surprise, all things considered. "Go ahead."

The Chatelaine Thecla had been encouraged to eat more. So, eat more she would.

The sight of a man enjoying, to all appearances, a dish of eyeballs ... that was not so appetizing.

"Have you taken alzabo?" she had to ask.

((nb: Thecla is seven feet tall, if it matters. ))

"Hmm?"

He looks up. Ah, someone insanely tall--just like half the people back home.

"Never heard of it, that I recall."

"The analeptic alzabo," she clarified. "It's a sort of drug. The one who takes it, and then consumes a corpse's flesh, will experience and retain the memories of the departed."

"Sounds like it would be rather redundant, in my case."

Karasu wandered into the Great Hall, as he often did when he was looking for some mild entertainment. While gliding along the edge of the room, he spotted a man he didn't recognize sitting at a table eating...were those...

"Eyes?" Karasu hissed, stopping on the opposite side of the table, in front of the Corinthian. He looked again at the plate and frowned. "What a shame," he moved closer as though he were going to sit. But rather than join the Corinthian, he simply leaned over the table to get a better look at the meal. "Some of those were lovely once."

"And are they less lovely now?"

"Yes," Karasu answered without looking up at the Corinthian. "There's no emotion. They are only objects now. Without life behind them, eyes are..." he reached out and plucked one off the plate and held it up in front of him. He turned it to the side and light from the enchanted ceiling filtered past the iris. It glowed like an emerald. "...boring," he whispered, the corners of his unseen mouth twisting into a smile.

"There is still emotions to be found in them. You just need to know how to look."
