L walked into the Great Hall, asking a house elf for cheese cake with strawberries and whipped cream on it and tea as he did. He climbed onto a bench, squatting on it as was his wont, and placed a very large book on the table before him. He watched Mikami Banishing the pillow before turning to the book and opening it. As he read, his thumb rested on his lip and he looked up occasionally to see if Mikami was making progress.

L continued to eat his cake. "Shame, really. You'd be more pleasant if your blood sugar was more balanced," he mused around another bite, turning the page of the book before reaching for his doctored tea.

L read his book, letting Mikami practice for a while before he said, "Perhaps you'd like chocolate? It has the precursors for several neurotransmitters that lead to improved mood, though Mello is no proof of that."
