Kurama was careful to slip around the Ravenclaw commons without coming into close contact with River (who had noticed him, but instead of throwing anything gave him a look that read "I put poison in your slice," which he didn't believe, but still.) and sidled up to A with a smile.
"That's a relief," he grinned, taking the offered plate. Sweets weren't generally his thing (with the exception of mochi and inari-sushi, of course) but the pie looked so good that he could hardly resist taking a bite.
Of course, it was delicious. "Very good, A. You're as good a chef as you are a gardener!"
Again, Ravenclaw has the best coffee, which is why Soichiro goes there.
He was a bit surprised to see the bustle in the common room, and lurked around the edges of it. Whatever was going on, A was involved, and the last time they talked...didn't end so well.
Simon had received the owled message of pi. He felt fairly certain who the sender had to be, just not what she had meant to communicate by it. Puzzled, he headed to the common room for some coffee.
There was a gentleman he hadn't met who seemed to have the same idea, already at the coffeepot. "Hello," said Simon, determined to be friendly. He did need to meet more people.
"No, I'm fine, thanks," said Simon. "I mean, I did want coffee, but I can wait until you're --" He froze. He'd just caught sight of his sister dishing up pie for a bunch of effete teenage boys.
"What in the --" insert Chinese expletives here -- "is going on?"
As was her usual habit, Luna ended up moseying into the Ravenclaw common room, almost as if she didn't entirely realize that's where she was going to end up. She peered over her glasses at the room in general, looking startled. A party? In Ravenclaw, where there was an actual bar? What a shock!
Spotting an unfamilliar woman who obviously seemed to be serving ice cream, Luna made her way over.
"Is that real ice cream?" she asked in her breathy way. "I've never had it before."
River turned, beaming at the newcomer. "Yes, A and I made the peach flavor, the elves made the vanilla. It's wonderful." She put a generous scoop of each into a bowl and handed it over with a spoon and a smile. "Next time, we'll make more pie, so everyone can try." Never say that River doesn't dream big.
Since the wizarding world had invented things like Every Flavor Beans, Luna had managed to go all her life without trying vanilla ice cream. It was, bar none, the best thing she had ever tried up to this point in her entire life.
She savored the ice cream, and then gave a moan of appreciation, which might at the very least be considered a little bit socially inappropriate considering that it was in reference to vanilla ice cream.
"It's very good, thank you," was, however, what she chose to say to River.
Brushing some of the hair out of his goggles. Koopa - who is a fair-sized young dog by now - greets A enthusiastically, without showing much enthusiasm for the plate being passed between the two humans.

"Are one of those slices for me?"

"Yes, yes!" Happily, A set a piece of the pie on a plate for him. "There are no stones in it," he told Kurama in a solemn tone.

L is much louder about his pleasure at this fact than A is.

"She likes milk."
Clearly, an important observation.

"There's plenty more where that came from. Share and share alike, of course." She held out a hand. "River."

He turns up looking flushed and out of breath, splattered with mud, and with a very enthusiastic Koopa on a leash.
"Jesus."

"Would you like me to hold his leash while you eat?"
