L had suggested trying to create charms triggered by mood or action, rather than by the traditional wave-wand-yell-incantation, and that's just what Matt's doing. It's tricky work - not quite the same as the runework Matt's become used to - and it's the first time he's tried it. So it's not really that surprising that he messes up.

Oh, damn. So much for secrecy. Looks like whoever he ran into would discover he was a kitsune whether he liked it or not.

"What's with the tattoos?"

He looks back at his hands. "They are not tattoos," he corrects without answering the question.

He's just had to deal with B. And B.
"Basically, uh. Triggering charms in... non-traditional ways. Not, like - with a mood, or an emotion, or maybe a combination of that plus a keyword. I was still thinking in terms of runework, though, so I let some stuff slip past." He's been working with Kusuriyuri often enough on the fuda to be comfortable talking to him about what he was trying to achieve.

He listens to what Matt is saying, untangling it from the boy's typical way of mixing multiple concepts together at the same time. "Perhaps you should blend the fuda with your runes before changing the trigger for the runes? Fuda may be more responsive to what you are working toward." If he can create fuda against B, then they have to be fairly refined. "Perhaps, set the fuda to react to what you will and then have the fuda trigger the runes and the runes set the spell? Though, it is unwise to let 'stuff slip past' when experimenting in public," he says the last in his most solemn, therefore most teasing, tone.

A small grin. "Yeah. I thought this would be safer since it's away from all my electronics, but..."
