Checking out the A/C

((Open RP: Kurama hanging out in the Grove))

Since Lezard had mentioned his new alterations to the mangosteen grove, Kurama figured it was his civic duty to check in on the grove and make sure that he hadn't screwed the whole thing up more than it already had been. The Leopard Cat was once again hot on his heels, and he made his way to the grove, ( Read more... )

A had already seen the new magical climate control, of course, but he was eager to know what Kurama thought of it, so he made his way to the mangosteen grove. He smiled as he made his way through the dome of protective vegetation to see that Kurama was already there.

"He said it would stay like this for always," A commented.

Kurama turned and smiled at A.
"Well, I must admit, I am impressed that he could manage this. It's beyond what I ever would have been able to do," he said, looking around. And it was impressive; the magical technology like this was far different from anything he had ever encountered outside watching Yusuke play video games.

"We can keep all the trees!" He was smiling broadly, clearly delighted. "There will be enough mangosteens that I can make mangosteen sorbet, and not be unhappy if it is not perfect. Have, have you tried a mangosteen yet?"

He shook his head, resting his hand on one of the trees. It was very content.
"I haven't had a chance yet, no," he said, catching a little bit of A's enthusiasm and watching his energy float around the trees and plants. He'd have to learn to control that, but for now... it was allowable.

Kusuriyuri is out walking the grounds. While A's garden supplies most of his need for medicinal plants, he also wishes to know what is available around the grounds. He started his walk on the far side of the castle from the garden, greenhouse and grove, leisurely taking his time, enjoying being out among the elements and at his own whim.

Covering the grounds had been on his agenda since he first arrived, but, from the hectic pace of the first week, he hadn't had the chance to fully appreciate the place. So, after examining the grove, Kurama decided he'd go for a walk, letting his pet trail grumpily behind.

That Kusuriyuri seemingly had the same idea was an added bonus. He raised his hand in greeting, a smile on his face as he approached.

Kusuriyuri returns the greeting. "Good day," he says when they are close enough. "You are well, I trust?" he asks, glancing behind Kurama at the cat with curiosity. He conceals a smile. "Another acquisition?"

"As well as can be expected," he smiled wanly, rubbing the shoulder the cat had clawed.
"I've been adopted, it seems, and I apparently have no choice in the matter."

Primavera traipsed down to the mangosteen grove. All Lezard's mentions of this place had piqued her curiosity.

Stepping through the portal of leaves, she inhaled humid fragrant air. Oh, it was nice.

Kurama was in the middle of transplanting a bilimbi tree that had gotten itself tangled in some mangosteen roots. He noticed Primavera out of the corner of his eye and waved before turning back to his tangly ward.

Aha, a familiar face! The doll made a beeline for Kurama and his bilimbi.

"Is that supposed to be fun?" she inquired innocently.

"It can be. I could do it the easy way, but I like to keep in practice with more traditional methods," he said, untangling the last of the roots.

Wishbone smelled trees he hadn't smelled before (and presumably the animals that were in them as well).

So he was sniffing around, familiarizing himself with this new place.

It was the cat who noticed Wishbone first, and she was instantly interested. Interested here meaning that she climbed to Kurama's shoulder, yowled in his ear, and stared at Wishbone from a safer vantage point. Kurama turned to look at her demand, and grinned down at his friend.

Wishbone looked up at the noise. CAT! Then, remembering he has cat friends, didn't immediately start barking.

And...

Hello Kurama.

Doesn't mean he was still on edge though. It is an unfamiliar cat.

Kurama put a hand to the cat's back to keep her from jumping around, but she was rooted to the spot, fascinated by the new creature.

"Hello, Wishbone. What do you think of the new place?" he asked gently, in a soothing voice.
