[Open RP] Time to find Puck

Sep 16, 2007 20:34

Someone had told Wishbone at his sorting that Puck (of Midsummer Night's Dream fame) was here at Hogwarts. Well, Wishbone just has to go fandog him.

Wishbone, of course, did not know how to find Puck. So his brilliant idea was to find an unfamiliar scent, follow it, and hope it's Puck. I never said it was a good brilliant idea ( Read more... )

Jaime was wandering aimlessly through the halls, exploring for the heck of it (and trying to find the Popcorn Room, something he'd heard about but really had to see to believe).

Hearing something behind him, he turned - and didn't see anyone. He looked down and was a bit surprised to see the small dog sniffing the ground intently, trailing something. Jaime looked around, but there was no sign of a frantic owner. "Hey, where'd you come from?" he asked, kneeling down cautiously.

Ravenclaw. Wishbone said without missing a beat, never mind that dogs do not normally talk. I'm looking for Puck! Are you him?

Jaime blinked a few times, wondering if someone was pulling a fast one on him - but the scarab wasn't picking anybody nearby. It was just him and the dog, a perfectly ordinary dog by the looks of it. "Uh, no. I'm Jaime," he finally managed to say. "I don't know any Puck, but I haven't been here that long. Why are you looking for him?"

Someone told me he was here, and I want to say how much I liked his antics in A Midsummer Night's Dream! Wishbone began wagging his tail in anticipation of said fandogging.

Neil was sitting in the Hogwarts library, leafing through a half dozen books, too excited and impatient to devote much attention to any one book in particular, but wanting to find out more and more about this magical society he'd never had any awareness of. He wanted to find out if there'd been any famous wizard actors, or writers, maybe even some he'd already admired without knowing they were wizards! And hey -- maybe Mr. Keating was a wizard, too. That would have made sense.

Something caught his eye then -- a small flash of white -- and he turned his head. It was a Jack Russel Terrier, coming into the library, nose to the floor. Neil smiled and leaned over in his chair, holding a hand out toward the dog.

"Come here, boy!" he called, clapping a hand on his leg and whistling. He winced a moment later, remembering that he was in a library.

Ooh, someone's calling him! Wishbone ran up to Neil, and sat, tail wagging. Hi! Are you Puck?

Neil smiled when the dog ran toward him, and then -- his eyebrows rose up into his hairline. The dog... talked? At least, he had heard a voice. It sounded like it was in his head... A telepathic dog?

He blinked, reminding himself of the dog's question.

"Yes, actually. Well, not here -- I guess they're doing the play here, too... But back home, I was in a production where I was Puck..."

Violet was looking for the Owlery (true to her word, armed with a box of Krispy Kremes, which were safely stowed in the blue drawstring bag over her shoulder), but she had no objection to distractions.

Especially distractions in the shape of the most adorable dog ever!

She squatted down to his height, holding out her hand. Without a donut in it, tragically. "Hey, boy! Or... girl. ...Dog. Hey, doggy."
