Tomo got to the owl before Dwight even noticed it, mainly because he was preoccupied with beets and she was on the lookout for a prank or a distraction. The second she read it, her eyes lit up
( ... )
"Tomo Takino!" She tossed a handful of beets to the ground before shaking hands. "It's a hard thing to do, but I'm gonna have to sacrifice Douche's beets for a higher cause." Yeah, no sincerity there. "So what've we got?"
"I've got a bucket of fish heads and some food that I honestly don't know what it is. The others have brought various cans, mostly, but Miss Edward brought candy."
Shaun, who wanted out more desperately than he'd ever wanted anything, showed up with a laundry hamper full of fruit--watermelons, kiwis, apples, you name it. When he'd been at college, he and his mates had gotten in a fruit-war at about four AM, and he knew from experience that a kiwi launched from a potato shooter could do some serious damage.
"All right! Watermelons!" Tomo cheers upon seeing the new guy's arsenal, still waving one handful of beets around like a flag of war. "I like the way you think!"
